I hung the Jolly Roger from my deck and my neighbors want me to take it down.
I'm not going to.
What would you do?

Well, it is your place and unless you have some rules in your township you should be able to do whatever you want with the exterior. But I guess you do have to live next to them so you have to decide how much you want to tick them off... What would be funnier than leaving it up would be to take it down and go appologize in person (profusely...but make it sound real...not patronizing) and then watch them get really uncomfortable. They have obviously make decisions about who you are as a person based on your home decor...wouldn't it be funny to see them squirm.
I am wondering why they care really. Maybe you don't like the color of their car and you think they should always put it in the garage so you don't have to look at it. LOL
Good luck.

Watch out! Your neighbors have a cherished life and it no doubt taxes their patience for having such exhibitionist antics being carried out in the adjacent property. Any suspicion could be flowering in their fragile minds: illicit plant life in the basement, pornographic videos in the home entertainment studio, poker games for high stakes, or communications on the sly with extraterrestrials.

I see nothing wrong with a Jolly Roger flag. It is on your property, and I would leave it.

Is your deck in the back yard?

What is their reasons for wanting you to take it down?

If there's not a neighborhood covenant and it's not obstructing a view, then I'm not sure there's anything they can do about it.

I don't know what a Jolly Roger is. If it's not offensive, then let it be.

I would hoist another flag and wait for the correct moment....

Their backyard BBQ....Then hoist the Joll Roger and strike.
Sit back on my deck enjoying their food and drinks...and booty.

Unless they can give you a GOOD reason that it is offensive, or they can prove it is an eyesore, leave it up.

VIVA La JOLLY RODGER!
