Do we not see the war for the "lull"?

Question

I am wondering if we, as Americans, have been lulled into a sense of not being at war with Islamic fascism due simply to the fact that there have been no major atacks on our soil since 9 / 11. I get the feeling that a potentially deadly complacency has set in because it just doesn't seem like we're at war. Afterall, the war is being fought mainly on foreign soil and behind the scenes where the average American doesn't really see or appreciate ( partly because of the media ) the effort that is being made. In my view, this is extremely dangerous. There is a definite insidiousness in the people we're fighting, and if we don't wake up and realize this soon I fear it will be too late. We have been warned repeatedly about this, yet many Americans continue to inherently remain in a state of denial about what we're dealing with on a global scale. What do the rest of you think?

I, for one, do not see the war as lull. I am finishing up my year long deployment to Iraq. I see what is going on every day. I just wish the rest of the country truly understood what was going on down here, and what we truly are up against. Never forget, why we are here, sure, we can use the points about oil and money, but the root of it is stamping out terrorists before they attack us again. And the guy "O", he is a total coward, he emails me a punk letter, and i tried to write him back but his emails are turned off. Real tough guy there. Afraid of debate perhaps.

This post has more merit than any I've read in a long, long time !
I think most Americans, liberals especially, are treating the war on terror as if it were a joke. THIS IS NO JOKE ! Instead of spending your time whining about the President and blaming him for everything from the 9/11 attacks to hurricanes, you all should be extra vigilant because they will hit us again. They want us dead ! They are not going to spare you or your family because your a liberal. They kill their own people in Iraq to suit their purpose. WAKE UP BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE !!!

Some people could care less as long as it don't inconvenience Them .
They'll wake up when a bomb goes off in a local building , school or hospital and that will be too late .
Then they'll scream their heads off to Nuke the whole middle east
back to the Stone Age or beyond .
Then , there are those who believe , nothing is worth fighting for .

There is no terrorism. It is the American government trying to scare the population. All yous americans might as well be cattle at a mart & the different political parties in america are trading you. Most are addicted to mcdonalds. So forget your terrorism story & get over 9/11

I agree with you. We almost had more attacks with them blowing up the airliners from the UK to here.
