don't know if a plantain slicer will give u thin potato slices or not but u do get some very reasonable priced potato slicers in the market, u could buy one. try once & see if it works, if it does then u are lucky, u will have a plantain & potato slicer rolled in one!!!

Try slicing a potato and see. Worse case senario will be a potato wasted.It should slice unless the potato is one of those very hard varieties one.

with out seeing it i can't tell if the blade adjusts try doing that and with a little expermination you got thin slices........

I don't see why not best thing to do is just to try it !!! it would not hurt
