why do so many nurses, during the training turn to religeon?

I used to never know what nurses go through until I started working at a hospital. Nurses go through a lot of, not only physical stress, but mental and emotional stress. Some nurses depending on their speciality will experience more than others. Death, young patients, burn patients, abuse situations are just a few of the scenarios that a nurse may experience stress. Religion is an outlet, a way to help one through it all. Also i think it is more motivation to keep them working. I salute nurses everywhere.

I'm a hospice nurse who quit nursing after my heart was broken by how morbid Christian paradigms and sanctioned behaviors made homosexuals suffer needlessly during the pre-cocktail AIDS crisis. Christians fought against laws that protected homosexuals from being allowed to rent homes. Christians were the largest demographic group that abandoned their own children when they got HIV. Christians were the sickest when it came to preventing a dying young man have his lover present during the dying process. Christians prevented condom distribution that could have saved millions of lives. And, Christian nurses and other medical staff were the least professional about being willing to work with an HIV patient.

seeing ppl suffer, seeing someone dead / in death bed, and in fear looking for some one to help chose GOD to get out of the fear and follow the relegion they beleive or told about or by birth, become more relegious.
