Two sisters have given birth to babies. in the absence of one of the mothers, when the baby started to cry, the other sister put her neice to her breast & made her suckle. can people tell their views. BOTH of them are free from diseases/they are healthy.

There is nothing wrong with a sister helping out her sister's baby in this way.
And you should be aware, it is not possible to "make" a baby suckle. If they don't want to no power in the 'verse can make it happen.
I wish the idea of wetnursing could be brought back. Then women like me who make too much milk would be able to help out women who don't make enough milk no matter how hard they try. I too am healthy and free from disease.

There is absolutely nothing wrong, or any danger in having a child nurse from a disease free woman who isn't its mother. Years ago, before bottles, formula, and breast pumps, women would hire what was called a 'wet nurse'. Her job was to breast feed her employer's infants. This was also a common practice during slavery.
Kathryn A: Contact your local chapter of the La Leche League. They'll but you in contract with local mothers who could use your excess milk.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. My cousin had her baby the same time I had mine, I breastfed my son, but she didn't with her daughter..they were having trouble trying different types of formula...some didn't seem to agree with her little stomach. I didn't do this, but i just wished i could pump off some breast milk to give her baby. I'm not quite sure why i thought my breast milk would have been the best for her baby too, maybe because it was the best for mine.
Anywho, I didn't offer...but I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

I don't have a problem with it at all. What lucky children to have such a close family. However if this was regular occurrence eg one sister cared for her niece all day then her sister would find her milk supply reducing as a consequence of reduced feeding.
I would say that between friends rather than family you would probably need to have consent before feeding your friends child.

Theres nothing wrong with it as long as it is fine with the mother and if they are both disease free and healthy,my mom breastfed my cousins her sisters children cause my aunt wasnt able to they had babies around the same time so as long as it is fine with the mother theres nothing wrong with that

I believe in nursing if you are able BUT I would be very upset if that happened with my baby.
She had no right to do that. It might be acceptable in their culture but for myself, I would be very unhappy about it.
It also might confuse the baby, since they are used to their mother's scent and the taste of their milk.

It does'nt seem like a healthy thing to do, but under some unavoidable circumstances I don't think there's cause for any harm or worry.

i think its perfectly fine--let's face it--it was a common practise in many cultures not so long ago.....hell 30 years ago it was gross to nurse children its becoming common practise again!
because ppl can be so critical i wouldn't go around telling everyone!
