Hob nobs all the way for me ... and I know Digestives are the classic, and they're certainly not without their charms ..... rich tea, I don't rate

But what do you think is the best biscuit for dunking?

I do have to agree with you on the Hob Nobs front, truly excellent dunking biscuit. Digestives, and Choc Digestives are always excellent for a dunk too, and I also have to agree about Rich Tea being a real anti-climax. I think NIce dunk well too, but the time in the tea has to be seriously curtailed, or breakage will occur.

Fox's Golden Crunch work extremely well, as do coc-chip cookies or Maryland cookies. They have tremendous tea-absorption capability, but the dunk-time has to be kept minimal, or breakage will occur.

There really should be a nationally accessible database of optimum dunk-times for all biscuits. The disappointment when a biccy hasn't been dunked long-enough, or the abject despair when it breaks-off and falls into the tea are burdens that we have suffered for too long.

Got to be Ginger Biscuits by far. they hold the world record (1m 22s in a boiling hot cuppa)..for the longest dunking time because they are a very porous. Shortbread comes a close second due to the thickness of the biscuit and custard creams seem to hold there shape well too.

It's a proven science you know, check-out the link below.

McVities Digestives but Hob Nobs (no chocolate) come a very close second.

It's a fine art between not enough dunking - and losing a chunk into the mug.

I actually like Rich Tea !! It's like a game trying to get it to a that degree of soggyness which is just before the critical breaking point.

My favourite has to be Choccy Hob Nobs though.

sorry don't know the brand but i know a dude that used to bite both ends off of the biscuit dip it in the tea and suck the tea into the biscuit then eat it. That's why i don't know what brand i would be off spewing by that point.
