see if you can get a pic or sticker of spongbob, place it in a balloon, blow up heaps of balloons & get the kids to pop them. Whoever pops the one with the pic/sticker wins a treat!
Musical chairs are good for the little ones, maybe make the prize a spongbob colouring in book or something like that. Hide the spongebob! Get the kids to play hide & seek but instead of the kids hiding, get them to take turns hiding a figureine or doll of spongebob! Parcle the parcle with spongebob stickers etc.
Have fun :o)

The last time I was involved with a party with a bunch of children around 5 yrs, I had wished that we planned more fun where the kids did something all at once or paired up to do something fun. We had games where the kids played one-at-a-time (like pin the tail on ?) and the kids that had to wait in line were getting really restless. I hope that helps.

October is a great time to throw a bday party outside! Make sure to write on the invitation that all kids attending should wear warm playclothes. Make a giant leaf pile and let the kids destroy it. Maybe make a bonfire and roast marshmallows. Bob for apples or let kids draw faces on pumpkins. Trust me, having the party outside will save money, setup/cleanup time, and most of all, your carpet. (Yellow Spongebob icing and sprinkles are very tough to get out of the rug!)

As much as fun as pin the pants on sponge bob the probly I ran into is the waiting in line. The kids get very restless, and bored. See I live in Fl so we can normally have a pool out and stuff. ( makes my life easy ) or we go to a park. So the kids have all kinds of stuff to do. You know for a bunch of 3 years olds a park might be the way to go. Easy clean up, and there is so much for them to do, they won't get bored and they alwasy fall asleep on the way home.

My son just turned two..so I'm a little behind on the '3 yr old' party scene, but I printed out birthday coloring sheets for the kids to color.
I'd just have plenty of toys around and let them just play for an hour with those few games, then have a lunch and open gifts..then send 'em home! But don't do as I did, everybody cleared out so fast I forgot the loot bags...*GULP*
I had to drive around later and deliver them all :)

Get a poster of sponge bob, hang it on your wall, and play pin the tail.....I think the kids would have a great time, and interact with sponge bob as well.
Happy b-day big guy!!!!!
