Stories in the bible sometimes seem to have been inspired by other religions and myths.

The myth is more akin to Achilles than to anything Christian.

Suggest that you read the PROSE EDDA and the POETIC EDDA, not long books, to find out more on Norse Mythology. Snorri Sturlisson, is about the best source on Norse Mythology and he wrote in the 13th or 14th century.

no as the Balder legend was long before the Christian religion as were all the Nordic Legends. Interesting though how at the end the Legends did leave an ending for another religion to take over. perhaps they knew life was like a circle.

some people understand christianity wrongly. It didn't start when jesus came but it started from Ibrahim times and then Elia and Mosus. These people are profits in chistianity and they told that jesus will come and save the world. So I think Balder legend was yes inspired by chritianity

Mythology is inspired by paganism. And some religions, like Islam, is also inspired by paganism. Christianity is inspired by God.
