Probably. I can't speak for its natural beauty because I have never been there but for centuries it was widely regarded as a religious and cultural center for the world and I believe it still is. It is the birthplace of the world's oldest surviving religion as well as the birthplace of Buddhism. Unfortunately India did not embrace Buddhism although the Buddha was from India. I fear that Hinduism, while a very beautiful religion, is too heavily grounded in mythology to survive with vigor into the next century although I think the Hindu spirituality will have a lasting contribution.

What they did for the the Dalai Lama and the Buddhist refugees after the massacre in Tibet was truly admirable. They have shown no fear in offering them refuge from China. India has demonstrated generosity and good-will the whole world should admire. Today in India every major religion is well-represented and respected. It is far more spiritually diverse than any other nation. If you are serious about religious studies it is the place to be.

India is very beautiful and hot. The women are also well known for their beauty. The religion however interesting does has some negative aspects. For instance they believe that those with lighter skin were better in their previous life and those who have very dark skin are unclean and undesirable. Those unclean people are not even allowed to share the same water or to have educational opportunities as their lighter skinned companions. Equality does not exist. Young girls are married off to older men, and if their 70 year old husband dies then obviously the young girl was wicked in her previous life. Does anyone see the hole in that logic? Girls who are poor will be sold to the temples to help their families. Sure the religion has some good aspects however if my god wore skulls around her neck and ate human heads I don't think I would be cool with it.

To the moron who mentioned that India was moving to Shitianity, let me assure you that it is a pipe dream.. All right actions take time and and when we decide to take action, Shitianity will have no place to hide.

The kind of knowledge at every level possessed by Indian literature cannot be matched by the entire knowledge in the western world. It will take centuries for a Shitian to comprehend the depth of knowledge in Hinduism. To propagate a false religion in nothing new for Indian. The barbarians have been trying for centuries but as we believe - the truth shall ultimately triumph.

Obviously, you haven't been there, or at the least have no sense of smell. India is a crowded, poor country whose religions are crushing the poor to death. It smells like a combination of curry, incense, BO and butt.
