I'm in the middle east as I'm typing this. We are certainly not trying to dominate these countries.
My job here is to help the local people (after 30 years of oppression) to build, run and maintain a hospital. I am here with various others who are doing the same thing in different areas ranging from engineering to communications and the list goes on. I am here under direction from my government.
Our singular aim is to get the people trained and knowledgeable enough to run the country so our troops can get the hell out of here and back with their own families.
Domination is not on the agenda!!!

I've been to the Middle East three times since 1990, last time was in 2005. The people there want the same thing we wanted 200 plus years ago....freedom from oppression and freedom of religion. Both Iraqi and Iranian governments indoctrinate their populace to believe that Americans are evil, not the Republicans or the Democrats, or the whites or blacks...but all of us. They are, or were in the case of Iraq, totalitarian leaderships, squashing any who do not follow or uphold their strict beliefs and bow to their demands.
Why is it so hard for some of us to see the greater good that is happening in Iraq right now? I've met some of the people who have voted for the first time in their life. They are hopeful now that change is on the way and that their lives and those of their children will be free from fear and domination by that sick bastard and his family. I hope that we as a country along with the UN put a stop to the same type of ruthlessness in Iran soon. If giving the people in the Middle East their freedom from tyranny is a crusade, then so be it. Wake up and join our military if you're qualified and educate yourself instead of promoting stupidity on the net!

You can only comment on what they show on TV. I've been there. Iraq has hospitals now that anyone can go to for treatment. They have schools that we have built for them so their children can get an education. They have running water in villages that used to have to travel for miles to find a source. The agenda is not to dominate. The agenda was for Iraq to experience freedom and democracy after years of opression and genocide. Remember that little thing in 2005 called the Iraqi election?

Why not stop listening to the bullcrap emails your getting and really do some research.
Also, if your going to throw accusations out there like this, post a source.
