this is why they have this phrase .. "a little learning is dangerous" .. lol
Allah is the Arabic word for God. Christians believe in one God and in English they term it as the "God". Quran was written in Arabic and so "God" was termed as Allah in arabic. Allah is the one and only God. There is only one God and Christians and Muslims just have different ways of obeying Him.

If you open a Christian bible written in Arabic, everyplace you would normally see the word God, you will see Allah.
People confuse the Arabic with their religious beliefs. For Arabic speaking Christians, this is not even an argument. They would look at you like you're crazy.
stop being so closed minded.

The truth of the matter that in Arabic language the word God is translated to be Allah. This word exists before Islam. Arab Christians used the word Allah to mean God before the Islam originated. However, you have a point. If Allah is God, then why when some one whose native language is Arabic should use the word Allah instead of God when he speaks English. I agree with you on this account. If some one is an Arab and he wants to express himself in English let him use the word God not the word Allah to mean God in English. If, however, he speaks Arabic with another one who understands Arabic, then let him use the word Allah in his conversation. The word Allah should not be forced upon American Christians to mean the same as God. The word God in English is used to mean God not Allah. So why should any one forces this word which is from Arabic origin to be used or mean God for any body whose native language is not Arabic. It is like forcing the word God to be used among the Arabs in place of the word Allah because Allah is the same as God. So you are right. Your argument is correct. God is God in English; Allah is Allah in Arabic. I think if any body wants to mention God in English, he should use the word God not Allah. So be it.

' There is NO god but allah.'
You make of that what you may, but it clearly states what it says and this is one of their prayers. There are 100 hundred names for allah but none of these names is he called 'God'. And despite what they say that allah means god in english, that is not so for in islam, it clearly states that allah can not be called in any name that would imply a feminine form could be derived, eg; God: Goddess.
Therefore, if allah is god would be a big if.
