depends on what you like, there are many diffrent things that can go into the burger itself but then you got to look at what buns you use the quality of the salad and do you have bacon and egg as well? If you want a bit more spice add a teaspoon (or more) or tobasco sauce or chilli sauce, also look at how you are cooking it as well sometimes a litle bit of oil is better then none or a lot!
I put in grated carrot and onion in my mince (I use a top quality mince/ground beef) also I add cumin and mixed spice, I use two eggs if you are making about 500 gms (1/4 pound approx) and use cornflake crumbs or stuffing mix that helps bind and adds taste, make sure the mixture is easy to pick up and leaves a little residue on your hands but dosn't feel dry to the touch, I also find that by adding bbq sauce it adds to the taste, or a smokey bbq sauce. I also find it helps if you make your patties in advance and then place them in the fridge for a few hours before cooking, this helps the egg set a bit and the flavours infuse the meat before cooking
Make sure you don't cook your patties for too long as they can dry out. Good luck with it and i hope you find your perfect burger.

Mix decent, lean mince beef with finely chopped onion, dried oregano, fresh, chopped parsley, a little cumin and some salt and pepper. You can add stuff like fresh or dried chilli, or use other herbs if you prefer.
It's best to then leave it for an hour or so for the flavours to combine nicely.
Then, form it into burger shapes and fry it until the outsides are sealed, then pop it in a medium-heat oven (covered with foil) until it's cooked through – about 15/20 minutes probably.
NOTE: You should be able to make the burger shapes without adding a binder but if the mix doesn't stick together, use either a small amount of beaten egg or some olive oil.

1 lb Hamburger Meat
2 tsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Garlic Salt
1 tsp teryaki sauce
Pepper
1/4 cup of dry oatmeal or breadcrumbs (although oatmeal works best)
1 egg
Mix all the above together. Make sure you do it with your hands, or the meat will get tough. The egg and oatmeal help the burger to not fall apart (and no, you'll never taste it--in fact it makes a little bit of meat go a long way as well), and the seasonings give it a really nice flavor. And I always start my burgers out on really high heat, and turn them as little as possible to keep them from sticking. This is the way my mom has always done it, and how I do it now. Everybody raves about my burgers. Hope it helps!

Add a chopped onion to some lean minced beef. Squash them together and mould into the shape of a burger. Crack an egg and beat it in a bowl. Put the burger in the egg, and cover it with egg. Get some breadcrumbs, spices, and whatever else takes your fancy, and cover the eggy burger with this mixture.
Cook on a flat or ribbed pan with oil. Do not overcook, as the juices are important in maintaining flavour. Some people like it slightly raw inside, and so if your meat is very fresh this should be alright.
What sauces or other pieces of lettuce you add to the bun depends on what you like really. I would like something like freshly made mayonnaise with a hint of curry or chili powder.

I make my own burgers all the time and they go down a treat. Buy some fresh lean mince, finely chop up 1 white onion, cook the onion to soften it, add a clover of finely chopped garlic Add to the mince, sea salt, pepper, touch of lea and Perrine's. Then add, either, some steak seasoning herbs, chili, or mixed herbs, basil, rosemary, oregano.
I find that if you make them the day before they taste even better once the herbs and additional ingredients have had time to absorb each other. I don't like adding the egg and bread crumbs. Or you could make Turkey burgers as a bit of a healthy alternative. Add fresh tarragon to this. Yummy yummy in your Tummy.

1 1/2 pounds ground chuck or ground round
3 tablespoons fine dry bread crumbs
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons grated onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, optional
2 tablespoons tomato juice
seasoned salt and pepper
sliced tomatoes, optional
sliced pickles, optional
sliced onion, optional
lettuce, optional
condiments, as desired
absolute winner recipe. The reason your burger is falling apart is you did not mix in enough breadcrumbs - the lack of taste is not enough onion (the worcesteshire sauce will give it a bit of a zing)
I would not avoid any of the optional items, unless of course you are allergic - and please please please don't ignore the optional garlic, even if you are not a fan of garlic. You really need it to bring out the various tastes and aromas.
good luck, happy cooking.

the best way to make home made burgers is keep them really simple. Get lean steak mince or the nicest mince you can, add salt and pepper to taste and thats it. You don't need to add eggs or anyhting else. Form into balls, squeeze all the air out, make into pattys and BBQ. or grill.

Go to Food Network.com and look up either Bobby Flay or Tyler. You can search them by typing in burgers or you can search them in a particular show. I never make burgers the same way twice, so I don't know any off hand. I happen to have a recipe box on that site.
