Tis not religion my luv, 'tis the culture and society that you happen to live in! And we must not forget that many different cultures and societies exist in every country. This happens everywhere for the smae reason every time, "dishonour" and "shame" on the family as a unit. Could be for something as small as being seen with a man that is not a member of your immediate family. Bit silly, don't you think?

There is no religion that states this. It is a form of cultural zealotry, and has nothing to do with religion at all.
The Qu'ran does not say this, nor does the Bible, the Hindu religious tracts, buddhism, - the question is based on a lack of knowledge.

There is no religion which condones honour killings. Murder, which is what this is, is condemned by all major religions, but is sadly of course nevertheless committed by people of all major religions.
I presume you don't want people using search engines because you don't want them finding out the facts for themselves.

Religion and culture go hand-in-hand. The Islamic religion must bear some responsibility for this nonsense, just as Christianity does for the crusades and such.

Not just Islam! This can still happen in the south of Italy, or in small communities in Spain, where the people are Catholic Christians. With Hindus it is also possible.

Islam does not call for such nonsense of course and I never heard of a religion that does.
I just wish people would verify their information before messing with other people's opinions out of ignorance. Please just speak for what you know and let other people answer what you have no idea about.
