That's a complicated question, but I would have to say don't pass up any good oppurtunities, I mean it might be awkward and complicated but... If you really care for someone and they do the same for you go for it. I have met people who have married there ex's brother, their ex's sister, friend, step sister ect... and sometimes these relationships really work and sometimes they don't just like anything else I guess.

But first I would indirectly ask the friend why he seperated with her.
If the reason is just lack of understanding or mismatch in personalities, then its ok to date her.
But if the reason is something like cheating then I would stay at a feet's distance from her.

No. She knows by dating you your friend will be upset and that may break the two of you up. The wife is probably spitefull and will do anything to get back at her EX. If your friend means anything to you, leave it alone.

I hope i'll never face with this in my life... but I think - NO. usualy friendship is too strong, especialy between men, and it worth much more than any kind of other relationships. If the friendship is real..not fake. So, I wouldn't... no doubt.
