If, love is blind and you keep your eyes open, you will always find a reason not to love.
Personally I prefer:
Lovers don't kiss by the garden gate,
Love is blind but the neighbors ain't.

When people are in love, they tend to overlook the weaknesses of their partners. Although their partner's actions are pretty clear to others, they will not "see" or believe the actions. There are thousands of cases of wife abuse by husbands, yet their wives overlook the abuse and only look at the times when they are not abusive. They still remain with their husbands, thinking they are in love. Hence, love is blind.

I think it's totally true. People get so head over heels for someone they only see what they want to see. If we kept our eyes open, we wouldn't get so hurt and feel so bad.
