People like George W. Bush are in power because people voted for them and didn't care about the consequences. When people aren't pleased they still don't do anything to change a thing. They could be protesting and demanding that he resign or at least have made sure to not get him re-elected, but they're too comfortable in their own lives to worry about who their voted representatives are killing out there or to even bother following up with what's going on.
Apparantly it was more important to them to make sure the two guys in town who love each other won't be allowed to get married than to make people stop killing others on the other side of the planet, but hey, what can you expect from people who see murder and homosexuality as equal sins that will both be forgiven in the end anyway?
They've got blood on their hands and still amazingly manage to convince themselves that they're good people and are doing what's right. Oh well, if there is any such thing as a just god they'll suffer the consequences eventually.

There is never a true winner when it comes to war. We have to stand behind our soldiers in Iraq because they each risk their lives on a daily basis and deserve nothing less from each of us!!

there are safeguards in the legislative and judicial branches of our government. remember also that voters have the choice as to whom they vote for in the elections. i am cynical of all politicians but have never missed voting yet. my feeling is " if you don't vote don't complain " and if you did vote then complain all you want.

We, the people are powerful, not helpless. It is this social impotence that we are helpless makes politicians powerful. If GWB is wrong in doing whatever he is doing, we were wrong in electing him.
