Most advanced and most powerful don't necessarily happen in the same aircraft. Raptors and Joint Strike Fighters are extraordinarily advanced, but when it comes to powerful, even your most advanced jet fighter cannot lift over 200,000 pounds of cargo and fly it thousands of miles without refueling like the C-5 Galaxy can. And that thing isn't exactly advanced. It's well over 30 years old and they just keep updating it. Helicopters are the same way. Apaches are azzkicking advanced killing machines, but in terms of power, nothing beats something like a Boeing Chinook or a Sikorsky Skycrane or something like that. By the way, the Comanche, as totally advanced as it was, got canceled. Too bad, too. It was one badazz helicopter. I hope they change their mind.

Powerful. If they are carrying nukes does it really matter?
The most advance would be the F-22, Rapter. It is a 5th generation fighter. The F-35, Joint Strike Fighter, JSF, would be upper there also. There are two versions. One is the normal take off and landing the other is VTOL. The F-35 as been renamed the Lighting II. The roll out of the first one off the assembly line took place just awhile ago, and I think the first flight test is next year.

I would say the E-3 Sentry, but I am a little biased.

lmfao...no really the most advanced unclassified airplane is the FA-22 imho.

Edit: Brian, I believe a B-2 costs a measly $2 Billion, not $500 Billion. Also, the E-6 TACMO, controls all the US nuclear weapons.

In a way monerjor is right!

Most advanced and most powerful are not the same.

Whatever the aircraft that serves as Air Force One, is THE most powerful aircraft, from it, the largest nuclear arsenal in the world can be controlled!

As to the most advanced, I would say the F-22 Raptor.

B-2A stealth bomber holds the title of most advanced aircraft other planes can carry more weapons though. and at 500 billion a piece they should be the most advanced. After this plane is the F-117, F-22,F-35 .

Depends on what role really. Fighter, Attack, Strategic, Transport. I like the F35 JSF. Never seen one in person though. For a long time I would have said the crop duster as it can keep the food coming for a country at war.

Lockheed Martin F-35 JSF (Joint Strike Fighter). It's basically the next Harrier.

Well there are many variables to this question...

AIRCRAFT means anything that flies....so in THAT perspective, the Harrier VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) is pretty advanced as it doesnt need a runway...

The Commanche or Apache Longbow helicopters are also pretty advanced AND powerful...they have the capabilities of engaging air AND ground targets with Hellfire missiles and a nose mounted cannon
(well thats MY theory)

Because Scott said the E-3 I have to say the E-8.

If he reads this he will understand the humor and rivalry between Tinker and Tinker East.
