People, Stop picking on the language ! You get the point he is trying to make.
I would love to hear views from people in Iran other than what you pick up on TV.

It depends on what you mean by "more powerful." As far as engines go, the F-18 (A thru D) isn't spectacular, and making more powerful engines would be easy. Now, the F-18 E & F models are about 33% more powerful, which makes it much more difficult to out-power it. It is possible, though, because Russia has some VERY powerful engines in its SU-37 Super Flanker.
If you mean more firepower, then I go back to the above reference. The F-18 A through D models were powerful when they first were developed, but weapons technology has outpaced them. This is where the F-18E and F-18F Super Hornets come in. They are called Super Hornets because they have 33% more powerful engines, they have 6 under-wing hardpoints instead of the older 4, the planes are 33% larger, but their radar image is 33% smaller than the smaller, original Hornet.
Iran may have a jet "powerfuller" that an original F-18, but the F-18 Super Hornet is a much more powerful aircraft in ever sense of the word.

I just read an article that said Iran used a fake video of their "submarine launched missile" a few weeks ago. Turns out it was exactly the same video from a North Korean missile launch.
I think Iran has a credibility problem. They do have very real and power capabilities, but making or even having an aircraft more powerful than anything in the front line of the US Navy or Air Force would be a large stretch of one's imagination.
Much of Iran's aircraft were purchased when the Shah was ruling the country, from the US. We have not sold them any spare parts since 1979.

The F-18 is a 25 yr old design , it's about time they caught up .
I'll put my money on a US pilot in an F-14 , 15 , 16 , 18 over any
camel driver anytime .
Lybia was supposed to be HOT SH-T pilots and planes , they didn't last 10 minutes , same with Iraq .
How do you dog fight some one who can knock you out of the sky from over 100 miles away .

The Iranians have the F-14A,F-4E,MIG-29,Mirage F-1C,They have SU-27 on order from china. No one knows flying condition of the F-14's or F-4's. These planes are getting very long in the tooth and it's doubtful there still flying.

No way. Iran's theocracy is against the development of the intellectual firepower required to do the level of aeronautical engineering required to be able to make such advances in science.
Iran has never been big on developing their own systems -- they buy something from somebody else and, on rare occasions, make changes to the existing systems. This is how they've developed their long-range missiles -- no original work, just changes to existing (Chinese) systems.

Iran can not MAKE squat. They do not even have an oil refinery. They buy their arms from Russia, China, France and Germany. We used to supply their arms under the Shah, but that changed under the Carter administration.

"powerfuller"? Where did you go to school? At any rate if Iran did make an aircraft MORE POWERFUL than an F-18, we have better trained pilots and a Christian God who loves us, so we will just blow their pathetic heathen butts out of the sky anyway.

Just like them claiming they made that rocket torpedo. HAHAHAHAHA, worked great as long as the target was sitting still, against a moving target in the open ocean, not a chance of a hit.
