I really wouldn't call him evil, but I see Balor as more negative. I see the Dagda as being mostly a good god.

That is a hard one actually. Most Pagan Gods/Goddesses weren't clear cut good or evil. They were shades, just like real people what is probably what attracts me to the old ways. I don't believe there can be someone who is pure good or pure evil as those are subjective terms. When you look at the Underworld Deities like Hades, Anubis, and Hel none of them was clear cut 'evil' for the most part they were just doing a job they didn't want to do but had to. I guess in that respect I would have to say either Loki or Ares.

Ares was a brute, clear and simple, he wanted to bring chaos and brutality to the world.

Loki was too self-serving and caused Baldur not to be brought back from the realm of the dead. Also was the father of the Fenris wolf and lead the Giants against the Æsir during Ragnarok.

With respect to whom I would consider the most good that might be even harder to narrow down. I guess I would say Brid, she was the patron Goddess of smiths, poets, and healers. I can say that I enjoy honoring her in February. She is definitely a bright and good Goddess.

I can see it now, all the fundies are going to cry out "All those but the One True Lord" .. as a witch I cannot answer this. I know there are darker sides to a lot of the old stories, but in all fairness to myself and what I hold sacred and true, I could not and would not classify any of them as "evil".
