I think that now-a-days by doing sp. in maketing more offers are from top most companies and by doing this sp. you may get expected salary. so it is better to do sp. in marketing only.

It also depends on where you are and where you want to work. Outside the US, marketing has a lot less going for it. And it will be difficult if not impossible to work in the US with a non-US marketing degree--marketing is too culturally specific, despite what some textbooks think.

Finance is typically in short supply everywhere, and provides a "master language" that will help with just about any business specialty. On the other hand, if you do everything OK you seldom do any one thing very well.

Know yourself. Does your style and temperament fit what you want to do? If not, do something else. Find out by asking professors this question. You might also want to do a strengths assessment--I recommend very strongly that you buy a copy of Buckingham's Now, Discover Your Strengths and use the code inside it to do a talent assessment. This was the single best book I ever read for business. I've given it to about a dozen friends. It will help you do *anything* better by giving you ideas about how to maximize what you're good at and minimize the rest. Buy it new, since you'll need an unused code and the only way to do that is to buy it direct.

Depends on your background actually.
If you have graduated in Commerce, then its best to go for Finance specialisation. Plus your interest level in Finance also matters. After specialisation in Finance you can go for Finance fields like Mutual Funds etc.
In days to come Commodity Exchange is going to become a hot property. NCDEX also runs several short term courses. One can say that a nice job is almost guaranteed if you do these courses sincerely, though they are a bit expensive. Try their website.

Also ask your college authorities if your college allows dual specialisation. If they do, go for Marketing + Finance. Its very good.

For your summer training, start from the month of October end itself.

both are good and both have career opportunities and growth. but unless you really "love" finance, it is better to go for marketing. marketing is more dyanmic and challenging while finance related works can really get too routined and too boring sometimes.

finance is something you cannot do good at unless you really have the passion for it. marketing might be easier for growth from this perspective. i would suggest you first check out your knack and then choose your major. picking up the "hot" is always not the right thing to do!

by the time you finish your degree in marketing, it won't be hot anymore. maybe the same for finance. you really, really, really should find something you like doing, not something that's "hot" right now. If you enjoy your work, the money will be there and you'll be much happier than if you just took a job because it's "hot" right now.
