Unfortunately, there are no "muslim countries" because this implies that society and government will be run on islamic principles and values. This includes the right of non-muslims in such a society to practice thier faith and have judges etc for their own community.

However, there are countries where the majority of people are muslims (eg Turkey, Pakistan). There are plenty of christian schools as well in muslim countries. Most people in muslim countries know more about other faiths than the rabid mentality of some of the people who answered this question suggests is the case in Europe/US.

Even in "faith schools", they will learn about other faiths because it is a requirement from the Quran that muslims respect older prophets including Jesus, David, Moses, Jacob(also known as "Israel"), Abraham etc. and will learn about them by default.

Muslims view the Quran as the "last testament", so will always learn about the Gospels ("new testament") and Torah ("old testament").

If your question is about the actual details of what is taught about other religions in Islam then this is a big subject. Just as christians are taught jewish history from their viewpoint (that the jews were waiting for "christ"), muslim schools will teach about other faiths from their perspective (the Quran and Hadith).

if you want to know the details, you need to read the Quran and teachings/sayings of Muhammad or "Hadith" (see link below). For example:

"Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve ".
( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Quran Chapter #2, Verse #62)

PS. The Quran is in the arabic language. You may not get the full or accurate meaning in the translations. There is also an explanation or context about each verse of the quran depending on when it was revealed.

I'm a Lebanese Christian living in the Middle East. To be more exact, I'm in The United Arab Emirates/Dubai which is a Muslim country...I go to an ordinary school where Muslim students get 2-3 hours of Islam studies per week. My school (and many others) do not really focus on Islam as much as general education. There are few religious schools over here though and they teach about Islam. I believe that they do not really focus on any other religion other than Islam. But I think that in Saudi Arabia, they focus more on Islam and they believe that Islam is the best religion in our world. Over there they teach their children that Christianity and Judaism aren't main religions but they kind of respect them...

But back in Lebanon, most schools in Beirut, in the North and few in the South are Christian/Catholic or Christian/Orthodox schools with Nuns running them, and many Muslims study there too.. It all depends on the culture and society. Not everyone in the Middle East is Muslim, there are many Christians too such as myself.

And I agree with "Supergirl's answer.. It is true what she said. Do not think that all Terrosrist are the real Muslims. They are more non-believer than Muslims (which they consider themselves that)

All muslim believers are respect Judaism and Christian since they are come from one root same as Islam.
I'm totally disagree that Islam taught that other religion is pig and etc.
We as Muslim already learnt about Judaism and Christian more than in West country did. We learnt them in both schools.
West counttry accept religion as based to make an individual way of lives, separated than others. But we see you as comparative way of lives as colour in our world.

Islam teaches Muslims to respect the faiths of others. They also teach Christians and Jews came from the same source and are all believers in The Book (meaning a revealed book from The God).

We do not teach that Christian and Jews are pigs... that person is lying.

If you have the truth falsehood is not so interesting. Also, saudi doesnt really have schools which are not 'faith' schools unless they are for expats. Obviously the qur'aan and the history of islam is filled with stories of the jews and christians so they naturally learn quite a lot

That document. is full of crap../ for starters i am muslim so speak from what i have been taught not what i see on tv.. for starters look at you've got programs lik E! etc etc.. gossip news.. things to boost ratings so they get money!!! if u belive everything u see and hear on tv then i truely feel sorry for you.. cause ur gullable beyond belife... i am muslim a family of 6 kids and we have been taught and kids in our class , relatives etc... to repesect others beliefs.. u may teach ur beliefs to others.. as do mormans etc, because u only want to help ppl understand what u think is the right path.. but if they do not accept u are not aloud to do this by force.. you may not have a conflict with christians jews etc becuase they are our neighbours.. and we belive in them as prophets in our religon.. so we are taught to repect it but only defend our selves (by word etc) if we are being attacked (verably etc).. we do not allow the life of anyone being taken as in our religon that is an automatic pass to hell as our teaching is that only god has the right to choose the life and death of a person.. we also are NOTaloud to commit suicide as this is a major sin and an automatic gateway to hell.. again because u defy gods judgment of how long you should be on this earth... please do not think wrong of islam.. these so called terrorists do not represent islam.. they represnt the sick little idea that they conviced as being righ tin there sick little heads.. when a person convinces themselves that what they do is right it DOES NOT represent there belief or god.. should a pedafile be blammed for his religon or a rapest of his religon.. this are all acts of there personalities, unstablness and misguideness in there lifes.. do not judge a whole nation but one group as so many do...

i live in india where there is people of different faiths live together in peace and harmony. although i am a non- muslim and feel that religion dosen't quite have a meaning ( its just a matter of self conscience) and have never seen a muslim school(madrassa) but i have some friends in school who are muslims, and they are just fine!! they are just like me and you. but it depends on the upbringing. like my friends are quite liberal and are quite modern( as we live in the urban cities) the conditions in rural areas is quite different. some people still are quite backward in thought and have blind faith on the religious heads. these sort of people do tend to have a conservative outlook towards other religions. however i think islam should be blamed for the terrorism. it is like killong thousands of innocents just to catch an individual criminal.

most islamic schools are called MADRASAA

their main subject is just Quran

science maths etc is not important - the quran has to be learnt by heart...

another thing is they are taught that people who do not believe in Allah (non muslims) are KAAFIRS (which literally means non believer but in an evil way that demeans the so called non believers)

i am not against islam, but i am dead against extremism - any religion even my own !

Many thank you for you as a christian to convey this expertise up . As you understand nonetheless many Muslims international locations do no longer positioned Islam as their national faith , or different words they're working in the direction of secularism of their political structures. Many muslims political leaders in Muslim international locations behave equivalent to Nigeria and that they've been over thrown with the help of their own people who choose extra Islamic way of existence . you may start up off with the help of Iran during Shah's time ,then Iraq from saddam to recent Gov.,stick to with the help of Tunisia , Algeria and recently Egypt . and quickly Nigeria will stick to , recommendations you, some muslims international locations like Indonesia and Malaysia additionally did no longer proclaim as Islamic international locations ,yet they have finished right to coach Islam of their own honorable international locations. As i understand from my pal who bypass to Thailand recently tell me that, nonetheless maximum folk of their human beings are Budhist yet muslims females everywhere in the country are unfastened to disguise their hijabs to colleges and universities. So what do you think of,I recommend, is it relatively without postpone subject with religious believes or another political motives in the back of it.?
