Salat or Salah is Arabic for standing in prayer before God, bowing and prostrating in prayer. Basically, the Muslim prayer is called Salat or Salah.

Salat has several meanings:
1) To pray in a specific way the angel Jibraeel taught Muhmmad (PBUH) how to pray. Salat was given to Muhmmad on his accession to heaven
2) Salat is that prayer which Muslims are following from the time of Muhmmad and Quran is preserved as it is recited in each and every Salat five times a day. Not a single letter or word of Quran is changed and in the coming monthof Ramadan the entire Quran will be recited from A to Z by heart in hundreds fo thosuands of mosques
3) Salat means salutation
4) Salat means to send salutation on some one
5) Salat is the Powerhosue here you meet with your Lord directly and recite His book while He is listening and answering to your prayers. It is the immense source of guidance and tranquility and problem solving .

it exists in tagalog language of the philippines.other form is kulang and it means not sufficient in material things/money etc.
