Yes, it is. Religion shuts down a thinking mind. It teaches children not to question authority. It teaches that feeling something is real, i.e. faith, is more important than finding out if something is real. It spoon-feeds children an obsolete morality instead of getting them to think about what really is right and wrong.

It's all relative isn't it? If mainstream fundamentalism is child abuse, then where does that leave the Amish or Hasidic Jews? Maybe someone should grab Amish farm kids or Yeshiva boys and force them to play Grand Theft Auto and watch MTV, lest they be "brainwashed".

What right to we have to stop people conducting their own lives in their own way. If that is with a religeon so be it. Where muslim girls are critisized for wearing headscarves and jews are made victims for killing Jesus, I don't blame them for setting up faith schools. They want to protect their children from us! Fundamentalists aren't bad because of their religeon, they only bad if they are bad people.

people fear, what is different, ans flock round what is the same. all this is inevitable, and we should no longer try and stop this grouping of colours and cultures, but should foster trust and peace between them
