When i guy says hes not ready for a relationship, despite him saying that hes likes you and finds you attractive, does it mean thats hes not interested really or that hes genuinely not ready to settle down?

I am a girl but the words you wrote up there describe me quite well. I am just not ready, and all I could give any guy at the moment is just some fun, no commitments.
I realized that about 2 days ago, after a day spent on thinking about my relationships with guys..
I am not ready to settle down, I am 27 and the last thing I want now is to give up all the things I do now to replace it by husband and children... well, I think guys can have this feeling of not being ready too. I don't blame them. the waiting can be quite annoying though.

I think he is either being polite and not wanting to hurt your feelings or just does find you attractive but doesn't think the whole package is what he's looking for in a partner. Of course there are other possibilities...he may be interested in someone else or wanting to buy time before getting into a relationship - sort of getting to know you first...

There really are times in one's life that you may not be in the right place for a relationship. It may be true that right now he does not have the 1) time 2) energy 3) need for 4) emotional or mental capacity for a relationship. Keep open the thought that maybe at some other time & place he may come around.

It his way of evading saying he doesn't want a relationship with you, that although he finds you attractive, it is not in that way and he is letting you down gently. It could also mean he is frightened of commitment. My advice to you is to walk away and find someone who genuinely wants a relationship with you.

Hes probably just come out of a relationship and is not ready for anything serious, take things slowly and and eventually he will come around..

if a guy says he's not ready he's not ready. it's as simple as that. that's the way it is with me anyway. and for all of you man-haters out there, that doesn't necessarily mean that all he wants is sex. women do that too. it could be that he's busy with other things in his life, or that his life is a mess right now, or that he doesn't want a whole lot of responsibility right now.

It could mean both but I use that excuse on a lad I was going with for abit but I didnt want a relationship with him so I just told him that I liked him but not in tha way!! Wer still frineds now though!

Ask yourself this question,if he is not ready for a relationship, why is he with you. Unless he just wants you as a friend, and is actually looking for a relationship with someone else.
