You would think that they would appreciate the business considering they were given the opportunity (or they took the opportunity...if they are illegal) to reside in this country and make a living.

I have personally never patronized a Mexican business for many reasons. I will discuss none here because even if I am right...and I know I am...I will be called a racist or something.

I will, however, share with you one reason I do not patronize their establishments. My reason is an example from your statement in your question. It would be my luck to be in their store spending my money and one of the Mexican clerks would say something like "Why is this white bitc* in here?" I work just as hard, if not harder, for my money. If I am patronizing your business I should be appreciated as an asset.

Case in point...if they do not want my money, fine.

I also speak Spanish but have not encountered that problem in a restaurant . Since I cook Mexican food at home along with many other ethnic foods ,I do buy from a particular Mexican market in Phoenix, but they know I speak their language and seem grateful that they don't have to explain things to me.The only places I encounter that is in business that are white owned that employ a lot of Hispanic people, and only have to go in to occasionally. Since they don't know me and don't realize that I speak Spanish, they will talk among themselves. And at times say disparaging things directed at me,although I have heard complements on my clothing and jewelry too .So its pretty even I think.I treat everyone as they treat me.If treated with respect,I reciprocate with respect.
I find the younger legal Hispanic more apt to be disrespectful to not only those that aren't Hispanic but to those who are .Maybe its also an age related thing .I don't have problems with anyone of any race that comes here as a legal resident or was born here as an American. But if you wish to change this country into the country of your birth or heritage then you are wrong and that's simply not going to happen.Come and enjoy the American dream for all legal Hispanics or other nationalities, but do not try to make America your old birth place or country of your heritage. No amnesty for illegal immigrants.

More than once but mostly in MExican grocery stores like Cardenas. THe service people will serve a Hispanic person first and make you wait acting like they don't see you and a lot of the customers will cut in front of you in line then act as if they didn't see you or will order in Spanish from behind you and the servers act like it is just fine.

I live in Mexico and have always been treated with respect. I guess you get what you give.I did make a mistake a while back by speaking my flawed Spanish to a young Latina who told me she didn't speak Spanish. A little embarrassing assumption on my part. Maybe white skin is a little too thin. Go to another place where you feel more comfortable.

that sucks dude. Now that I think about it I've never had a problem when eating in a different cultures restaurant. The only time I've ever gotten rude people is at tacobell. Go Figure.

no. they are extra nice to me because I order in Spanish.

you shouldnt base your idea's of Mexican people on one bad experience. Are you assuming that they are illegal immigrants?

I have heard white customers say racist remarks upon leaving a Mexican restaurant. So I say...if you are racist against hispanics in particular, why eat at a Mexican restaurant?

don't use one instance of stupidity to define a whole country or all immigrants coming from Mexico.......

there is a saying in Mexico that goes like this: quieres respeto dame respeto!!!! which translates to if you want respect, give me respect....

i have seen Mexicans in Mexican restaurants treat white people bad...... only after white people act stupid and drunk towards servers and waiters.... calling them Pancho.....trying to grab some t & a off the waitresses..... it is true that mexicans find their own ways of getting back at them!!!!!!!

Mexicans, like all other nationalities, have their racist people. You would find the same in any ethnic restaurant and in white restaurants, some people are just that way.

They want to be left in their own little world and fly the Mexican flag, cry prejudice every chance they get and inundate our radio airwaves with that godawful music of theirs among things and don't really give a crap about those among us who patronize their businesses and give them our hard-earned dollars. Maybe we should boycott them, their businesses, their food and anything that has to do with them and see how long they last before they start crying, bitching and moaning - yet they'll continue to fly that ugly flag of theirs with the buzzard on it.
