WOW! I'M SO CAPTIVATED BY YOUR WORDS!!!
Please wake up, its not that easy to just snap your finger to make this whole thing happen!
Even before we do what you said. First we have to clean up the mess that Ibn Laden and Co. have made and how are we going to do that?
You see this things arent that easy as for how you say it to be... But i believe in Allah's Will nothing is impossible, your kind of people are the ones we need in this World. MAY YOU GIVE US THE SUPPORT AND MAY ALLAH BLESS YA!

You are right that there is work that the muslim community could do to combat extremism but there is a lot of work that other people need to do.
Many muslims feel that Islam is being persecuted and that the foreign policy of countries such as the USA and UK is illegitimate and anti muslim. Some militant extremists feel that there is no non violent way to confront the USA.
The USA and UK and the rest of the world could do more to work towards a sustainable solution to the Israel-Palastine problem that respects the rights of all peoples to a peaceful existance free from violence.
Also there are plenty of militant christians in the USA right now who are advocating all sorts of violence, maybe American moderate Christians could reach out to them
The recent violence in Lebanon and the illegal use of cluster bombs by the Israeli government that was tacitly supported by the UK and USA has led to many innocent deaths and made many people question the legitimacy of these governments' actions. Hamas has now got more people wanting to join it.
This is what happens when people use disproportionate force against innocent civilian populations.
This is what happened wheh the British government launched military offensives in Northern Island. Our government's bad policies led to more violence.
We all have a responsibilty to stamp out violence in our own communities it is not just the muslims.

Your question thou worded slightly differently is the same as one i posted around a month ago.
Yahoo took it off for insighting religouse hatred? ! ?
It would go along way for muslims to show the same kind of passion when condeming terrorists, as they do when a cartoon or book comes out they say is against what their religion stands for.
Muslims protest not always peacefully about words or pictures but when inocent people die they do not take to the streets to condem their religion being used as a reason for murder.
This is what non muslims see it is the reason all muslims are looked at by some as a potential threat.
Muslims on this site say it is through our ignorance of Islam that makes us see this way that if we took the time to understand the religion we would see that all muslims are not the same.
It is not up to non muslims to go out and study for themselves but up to the muslims to educate and show consistancy in what being muslim means. A cartoon ........protests throughout europe------------ suicide bomber kills people ........ the reporters have to go looking for interviews.
It cannot be easy being muslim when there are those who commit these murders do it in Islam's name.
Show the rest of us your anger...... be angry with us... It may just start us all trusting each other again if we feel we are on the same side!!

Interesting. On the news one day last week there was an interview with a Muslim that lives here in the USA that was discussing that same thing. I thought it refreshing that not all Muslims think the same way. As long as there is a silent majority of people with common sense, I have to believe that there is hope.

The point is, these schools you talk about (if they really exist) are not out in the open for us to fight! We declare our rejection through media and any public advertising method.
I cannot think of any other way to fight something you can't see...
We certainly teach our kids integrity, peace and love, but our societies have criminals just like yours...ours come in the form of terrorists, while in other societies they come in the form of perverts, child rapists, serial killers etc... We try, you try, but there is only so much one can do.

I was participating in one Islamic forum and some of the members there are trying to justify the 9/11 tragedy and some of them were so proud that they hit the american economy. While reading those post I felt sad on how twisted those muslims members minds are.How could anyone rejoiced of other loss? How could they feel happy when their muslims brothers were also part of the victims in that tragedy?Lord want us to live in harmony but our muslim brothers are just have one goal to spread to the world, that if your not a muslim you deserve to die!well this what I understood from their post.

They lack the courage or secretly are rooting for their terrorist factions. Read the Quoran, the religion of islam by it's nature is a violent and evil thing.

Don't expect muslims to stand up and show leadership and courage. They find that difficult.
