Hi
I am new to dating being a year out of a 10 year marriage. There is a girl that I like who I have chatted amicably with for some years. She works where I buy my lunch.
Today she asked me what my name was and I asked what hers was in return. I would like to ask her out but I don't know how. Where she works is quite busy and she works with her family. Also I am not sure of her age. I am past 40 but well preserved (if i say so myself). She is younger but I am not sure of her age. There seems to be some connection we do gaze at each other. Help!!!!!!!!

Well, you go to her at an different time (not lunch) and then you try to get her alone. Just be straight with her, and ask her whether or not she would like to go out to dinner with you some time. If she says yes, make a date and a time. If she says no, just shrug ans say " AT LEAST I TRIED!".
As for the age thing, you can ask her on your date what her age is. Unless you think she is 18 years or younger, then you need to ask her before hand... but keep it subtle.

Being direct is attractive, IMO. Next time you're there, just ask if she'd like to grab a cup of coffee with you after work sometime. If she's interested, you'll know.

just ask her if she would like to go out with you sometime. (assuming you get her age and she is legal) there is no harm in asking you literally have a 50/50 chance and nothing to lose, but something to gain if she says yes. you can do it, it's not as hard as you think. lol
good luck
