Know About Psoriasis
Psoriasis shows itself on the skin as red patches and white scales. Psoriasis itches and is incurable. It can affect anybody. It can be treated whenever you get an attack. Psoriasis affects the patient psychologically and should be treated as soon as possible. It normally occurs on the scalp, armpits, elbows, knees, etc. Let us find out more about psoriasis and how to treat it.
Types Of Psoriasis
The most common type is plaque psoriasis. There are many variations of psoriasis. Each varies with others in the site affected, look, treatment and severity. The other types are pustular psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, erythrodermic psoriasis, scalp psoriasis, inverse psoriasis and psoriasis on nails. Your doctor will diagnose the type and begin your treatment accordingly. Some patients of psoriasis can also develop symptoms of arthritis and develop disability of joints.
Treatment
Psoriasis has no cure. Whenever you get episodes of psoriasis, you can be treated to clear the same. After that it may recur in weeks or years. No one can predict that. Your doctor may choose any of the following treatments.
Topical Steroids:
Steroids are one of the common medications for psoriasis. Strong steroids should not be used for a long period. Your doctor will tell you about the applications. Psoriasis patients prefer steroids because they are much cleaner to apply than messy coal tar applications. For severe cases of psoriasis, coal tar applications have to be used. Steroids, though much cleaner in use and highly effective, cannot be used for long. They thin the skin and lose their effect if used for long. Steroids are not a medication that can be used for long time without worrying about the consequences.
Coal Tar Applications:
In this application, refined coal tar is used in different forms. You get creams, gels, sticks and ointments. Your doctor will decide if you need to use coal tar applications. One has to take care while using coal tar applications before going out in the sun as they can cause sunburns.
Anthralin Or Dithranol:
This is an effective medication for psoriasis. It may be sometimes very irritating. Using it on body folds or face is not advised. Similarly, fair skinned people should not use it. Your doctor will guide you about the use.
Vitamin D Analogues:
The recent additions are Vitamin D analogues, which are used topically. They are not recommended to treat patches on face. These compounds may cause some irritation in the beginning but that clears after some time.
UV Treatment:
Psoriasis responds to UV treatment very satisfactorily. You may be treated with UVA, UVB or PUVA. They are all different ways of getting exposed to UV radiation. This cannot be done at home and you will have to go to a facility to get this done. Your doctor will guide you about the treatment and other aspects.
Sun:
The sun is also good for psoriasis treatment. But you should first talk to the doctor about the total time of exposure in the sun otherwise damaging sunrays may create other complications.
Oral Medications:
There are many oral medications for psoriasis. They are used only after the failure of topicals. Oral medications can cause many side-effects such as liver and kidney functions and some are potent immuno-suppressants. Your doctor will closely monitor you while giving you these medications.
Rest & Relaxation:
Psoriasis has some relation with stress. If you rest and be stress-free, psoriasis responds well.
Care:
Similarly, you must use enough moisturizers or emollient creams to keep the plaques soft, and stop development of very dry skin and more itching.

I had a 13 year history of psoriasis, though I was in good health otherwise. But these severe large, thick and scaly excoriated plaques on my neck, ears, trunk and limbs ruined the way I was leading my life. I would be with red, inflamed itchy skin for most part of the year and these silvery scales would seem to be erupting without any reason. To make matters worse, blisters would appear over already red and itching skin. It was living hell.
I was treated with various options but nothing seemed to be working. Some of the treatments that I underwent in this depressing period of 13 years included tar preparation, tropical steroids and anthralin. I was also given light therapy many times but everything I tried would give me temporary relief.
And soon, after a few days I would be plagued with the situation again. In one of those moments when I was completely lost I stumbled upon this website just by chance. I read it and felt that as if someone had put the story my life on this web page. I was thoroughly convinced that if ANYONE can cure me of condition, it would be you.
And was I right, or what. I started recovering within 3 days of starting this treatment. Something that had become a painful part of me for 13 years was actually getting healed! My ears are healed and my neck is smooth again!. I am a month into the treatment and I have never felt better in my life!

Cure psoriasis starting today - even if your doctor or dermatologist says "it's impossible!"
I've just followed a guide called psoriasis free for life that completely cured me of this debilitating and embarrassing disease in less than a month!
Remember, this will not only treat the symptoms that you do see:
the red, inflamed itchy skin.
The silvery scales that seem to erupt for no reason.
The burning or bleeding that occurs around your joints.
The cracking, oozing and painful patches on your skin.
But it also treats the underlying cause of psoriasis - the part you don't see - the actual immune system deficiency that causes these itchy patches to appear and scale over.
For more information, check here : http://Psoriasis.naturallysaver.com .
You can definitely get back your life, your confidence and your self esteem!

Currently there is no cure for psoriasis. However, many types of treatment are available, including products applied to the skin, phototherapy, and oral medications, that can keep psoriasis under control. Most cases are mild and can be treated with skin products. In some cases, psoriasis can be hard to treat if it is severe and widespread. Most psoriasis returns, even mild forms.
The purpose of treatment is to slow the rapid growth of skin cells that causes psoriasis and to reduce inflammation. Treatment is based on the type of psoriasis you have, its location, its severity, and your age and overall health. It also depends on how much you are affected by the condition, either physically (because of factors such as joint pain) or emotionally (because of embarrassment or frustration from a skin rash that may cover a large or visible area of the body).
Initial treatment
Treatment for mild psoriasis, characterized by a few isolated raised patches, begins with skin care, which includes keeping your skin moist and lubricated. Basic treatment approaches often involve combinations of therapies and products that can usually be purchased without a prescription, including:
Creams, ointments, and lotions, to lubricate the skin.
Shampoos, oils, and sprays, to treat psoriasis of the scalp.
Ointments, to treat psoriasis of the nails.
Some exposure to sunlight.

Although we usually only consider Psoriasis a skin condition, it can also cause a specific form of arthritis, and involvement with the fingernails or nail beds. Treatment is dependent on the severity of the condition. Some people benefit from sunlight or tanning beds (be careful not to burn) and topical creams or lotions. Mine got better one time using a lotion with colloidal oatmeal (like Aveeda)
If it is more severe, consult a dermatologist. There are some very good new treatments including a new injection that has helped people that nothing else helped for years.

I was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 14 and now I am 36 years old. You can say that I have tried just about every medicine both approved by FDA and trial without much success. Examples include Enbrel, Humira, oral meds, creams, oils, salts, coal tar, etc and the list is much more extensive that I can't even remember all of the names. But recently after someone shared this video https://tr.im/psoriasisTreatment4x everything has changed. My psoriasis completely cleared by putting these changes in place. I only wish I'd taken photos of before and after because it truly has been miraculous. I am getting married in Oct, 2015 and I am wearing a strapless gown that also shows my back and I am confident (not like before) that my skin will be soft and pretty vs red and flakey.
