Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a condition that becomes apparent in some children in the preschool and early school years. It is hard for these children to control their behavior and/or pay attention. It is estimated that between 3 and 5 percent of children have ADHD, or approximately 2 million children in the United States. This means that in a classroom of 25 to 30 children, it is likely that at least one will have ADHD.
Symptoms
The principal characteristics of ADHD are inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. These symptoms appear early in a child's life. Because many normal children may have these symptoms, but at a low level, or the symptoms may be caused by another disorder, it is important that the child receive a thorough examination and appropriate diagnosis by a well-qualified professional.

a Disease that has no exact diagnosis. Attention deficit hyperactive disorder does exist as a medical condition, but the fact is that a spoiled, rotten, self centered brat raised by lazy parents is indistinguishable from an adhd child. That is why there are so many being diagnosed these days. There needs to be a better definition of the condition and better criteria so that parents will stop raising their kids with pharmaceuticals

I have ADHD and it is attention deffisite hyper disorder which in lamens terms means that you have difficulty staying on task and that you can focus andcomplete a task but it may actually take you about two or three hours(in my case) to do an easy homework assignment like twenty math problems. The hyper disorder is if you are keyed on byt another or just randomly an adrynilan based hormone is pulsed through you and you get very hyper it can be very harmless but other times it can be overwhelming and you cant stop it and it makes others uncomfortable around you. I hope this has helped you.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It ususallly affects children ages 8-14 most commonly, but can last into adulthood.
The children with this disorder have problems with organization, can't sit still (like they are on speed!), trouble focasing, and believe it or not most kids with ADHD have above average intelligence.
If you are a parent of a child with this disorder, ask your doctor for a medicine. It can be like a miracle. When i was teaching, a saw several students go from c's and d's to a's and b's by getting on the medicine. One more bit of useful information is kids with this disorder usually CALM down if drinking caffine and had learned this from teh school phychologist.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - it is when some parts of the brain are overstimulated causing unruly behaviour and shouting but this is counteracted by some parts of the brain being understimulated causing for example no desire to sleep
Usually treated with counselling and/or drug therapy
