I think the police could prosecute them for having a defective indicating system. If they say 'but look they work' when they flick it in front of the officer then they should also be prosecuted for driving without due consideration for other road users.

And it is ALWAYS volvo's............. why ?.

(HGV Volvo drivers excepted guy's..... you know where your indicators are !)

the volvo drivers are the same in australia. they buy a car that they think is really safe to protect themselves from all the accidents they have. problem is that they cause a heap of accidents too and then keep driving oblivious to anything that is going on around them.

They think that the fact the cars have sidelights on all the time it makes up for it!!
Maybe it has something to do with the age of people driving volvo's, when they took their test there were no indicators, just stick your arm out the window!
No, seriously though, they should be prosecuted if its caused an accident. But i think that can happen anyway.

No, get on yer bike and make sure you never indicate and never hit the brakes until the very last second. That will teach them. A bicycle crashing into a car would not kill a driver of course, but any motorist is afraid for the car to be damaged.

Volvo drivers don't indicate because their cars are decorative Tanks..they know that they are not going to be hurt, or their car damaged. Those things are safe as houses and so well made.. These drivers smirk while they change lanes...That and they are selfish bastards.
