Is it me or have the Muslims and Jews been fighting over the birthplace of Christianity?
If so, where do the Christians feature in this?

This is not a religious fight. The Jews running Israel are secular and not religious.

It is a very old conflict. The Muslims and the Jews are two branches of the same family tree. The "Paulists" (Christians) have been adding fuel to the fire (Such as the Crusades and our current interference.). Right around the end of WW II, the Zionists were committing terrorist acts against the British because they wanted to get a Jewish homeland back. After much fighting, they were given the land now known as Israel. It used to be called Palestine. The Palestinians did not like this. Hence, more fighting.

It's simple: the Holy Land has more Jews and Muslims than Christians. Besides, the Christians tried to take the area, but failed. Remember the Crusades?

The same family tree from the family of Abraham. Islam faith started from the descendants of the first son Ishmael. Israel, a name given to Jacob after the his victory over a wrestling with an angel. Jacob is the son of Isaac, who is the son of Abraham.
Seems like both sides have forgotten their great great ... great grandfather Abraham's feelings in watching his descendants killing each other.
The root of this conflict could probably be traced way back to the poor treatment of Ishmael and his mom.
And the solution, is to live up to the standard of Jesus' teaching to love your enemy, although this teaching is seemingly incomprehensible by people who have been following the older guidelines of a tooth for a tooth for many generations.
How can you consider someone, who is related to people who killed your relatives, as your friend? No way! He is your enemy! So, the only way is to love your enemy.

Do you not realize this conflict has been going on since early Old Testament day? Ever hear of David and Goliath? Read the story.

birth place of christianity is Italy and Greece. Jesus was a practising jew. He did not intend to start a new religion. It is others like Paul who created christianity

Because people allway's fight they never learn and everybody thinks that they are right so it will never ever stop unless we either stop religion or use the big ATOM bomb.
I would stop Religion first then the Bomb,it is tempting to do both..

Israel is Palestine and belongs to the arabs. The filthy judean stole it from Palestine. The brits helped. Islam will get Palestine back Insha ALLAH soon.
