There are many ways to promote peace in the world but perhaps the best way is to promote it within ourselves. Peace is a gradual and wonderful event that occurs because compassionate people are inspired to help others discover the joy of peace! Helping others also has the direct effect of increasing our personal peace and well-being, but this is merely one of the many bonuses that come from sharing our kindness with our fellow human beings. We all know that it is better to give than to receive. (: Peace, like reading, writing, mathematics, drawing, emotional intelligence and enlightenment ("understanding/comprehension/intuition"), are learned skills that improve our knowledge, maturity, health, happiness and longevity. Peace is probably the most important lesson we should learn during our lives and the sooner the better. The advent of the world wide web may just provide the boost in knowledge humankind has been waiting for. Through knowledge, Peace will evolve. Knowledge is power. Knowledge combined with enlightenment leads to wisdom. Wisdom is Peace!Be the change you wish to see in the world.Peace starts from within!
Life's what you make it.

Not permenantly I don't think.

If there was a world catastrophe and people were isolated in groups across the world, maybe for a while as they picked themselves up and survived there would be.

But then Tribal in-fighting and communication with other tribes would cause battles, wars ect.

The way I see it, most people who want world peace have no desire to be a leader or have that much power.

Basically the instinct to control is deeply ingrained in some people and I dont believe that will ever go away.

No there will never be total world peace....however when the anti-christ-world leader emerges out of europe...he will set up a peace that will last for 3 1/2 years then there will be 3 1/2 years of war...making up the total 7 years of his reign of terror!

There never has been world peace and I don't see it starting anytime soon. To those who think doing away with the human race would cause world peace they have never paid very much attention to nature. Nature by its own "nature" is violent. So to answer your question I don't think there is a snow balls chance we will ever see world peace. At least until the second coming of Christ.

Yes, Theoretically but, every living organism, vies for the same items that are available on this planet. Water, space, nutrition, and the like. So, I believe, the "only" way for world peace, was if earth, turned completetly devoid of any living species. Even Adam and Eves, sons, "battled" It's natures "nature" and left the planet, to be "at peace" Wow, was that deep or, what? And I truely believe, that is about to happen. Mankind is on the way to do, just that.

It's not likely since there are so many divergent values in the world. One sect hates the other, and their goal is to annihilate them. Think of the actions of the countrymen in Darfur, Bosnia, Serbia, Uganda, the Middle East, and even Ireland. Whether it's religious or ethnic, people with dissimilar views do not work very hard to understand other people who are different.

Although, I would like to think that World Peace could become a reality, it is not going to happen.

Not with us around, it is against human nature to live in peace. We always want what the other has got, always want to be better, more powerful than everyone else, even just for the sake of it. Peace is a utopian dream, the best we can hope for I'm afraid is 'relative peace' (i.e. more peaceful than before).

There has never been a time in recorded history when the entire world was at peace.

This is not likely to change despite the efforts of generations of beauty queens.
