Maybe she is alpha, or maybe she's just not ready....

Although a dog's heat last a good while there is only a short time of the heat that a female will take a male. she must be "flagging" for her to be completely ready. brush her hind end by her tail with the back of your finger. if she ready she'll move her tail out of the way for a male just as she did for you.

A ***** will normally be receptive to a male around the 10th-12th day of her heat cycle. She might be going out right now. She will flag her tail to the side and stick her vulva up when she is standing in heat. Now I had a ***** that bred on day 23 on time and was in whelp for this. This is not the norm by any means. Next time watch her closely for swelling of her vulva and signs that she is flagging her tail. I have a girl right now that had only been in for 7 days. I checked her Saturday and she was ready to breed. I took her to a stud to breed and she is such a dominant girl that he was afraid of her. I really wanted to use this boy with her but he wanted nothing to do with her. I ended up breeding her to an American show boy that I want to use with one of my American show girls to keep something back. He bred her. I have a few males here that I can use around a ***** in heat to see if they are ready to breed before I decide to take them to a different stud. I think that your girl is probably going out right now.

some dogs are different, sometimes one think one is in heat,by starting to swell, but in fact it may be a few days until she is in heat, the best way to tell when she is hot is if you got a male dog loose, when she is the hottest the male dog will not leave the pen trying to get in

that's just how female dogs are, when they're in heat male dog sence it, but female dogs don't like that! it's better to just keep the female dog in hiding until it pasts....or maybe it isn't the right mate....lol!!

Maybe shes a lesbian. My dog Ginger is 13, has never been with a male dog. Pretty sure shes gay. And it does exist in the animal world.
