I have heard this before,....the burn out syndrome. It happens only to people
who have been doing the SAME THING for work....for many years. Perhaps,
you really do need a change in careers ?? If there is a way to lighten your
load, maybe you can then take some other type classes. But do the kind of
work you ENJOY. That is secret. Life is to short to be miserable at the same
job, that you aren't happy with anymore. If you wake up and don't enthusiastic
about going to work, then by God make some changes. It may take time.
But you will get there. Set NEW GOALS for yourself. I got burnt out on a job
once, I changed jobs and felt 100 % better. Because I didn't become a slave
to my own life. Ya know ? But you do need someone to TALK TO. That is
the first step in regaining your life. Talk to a therapist, it really helps.
Medication is a whole different ballgame, and if you can mangage your life
without that, please do that. Meds are not always the answer. TALKING out
your feelings is most important. Therapists are objective, they won't judge
you , that's why sometimes it isn't a good idea to talk to family or friends.....
It HAS to be with someone you can really trust your feelings with, ya know ?
Best of Luck to ya, and learn to relax.....and just take care of YOU....PEACE.

Seems like a new kid in school syndrome to me. Sorry I made that up. Sounds like it anyway. ( Sooner or later some american health society will give it a name that sounds more professional and scarier )
You do have a high self esteem. You do have confidence, although it might have taken a break for now.
You might feel like, at 37, you have done all the meaningful things you needed to do or could do, and you are not sure what you can do with the rest of your life. 37 is like 1/3 of your life, and you wonder, what have you achieved already?
Seems like you need to find your purpose in life. You are anxious to know where you are supposed to go next, what you are supposed to do now! No you are not depressed, just stressed about being lost for the moment. Don't know what you can do with your talents because you don't know why you can't seem to use them to the fullest. Seems like you are talented in connecting with people and helping them with problems!
Other than living for your family, for your friends, for yourself, for a dream job, for a dream house, a dream, impossible to get 35-24-36.
Have you found something else yet? Try finding purpose in God, in other words, find God, then find His purpose for your life.
All the best.

OH, girl!! You don't need mental help! You just need to boost yourself back up. You may be experiencing a degree of depression and/or anxiety about possibly the monotony of your life (?). Try changing up your routine a little....and try to throw some fun into your routine. Start cooking green pancakes on Monday mornings just for kicks....or plan on spending Monday evending doing something special...flying kites with your kids...whatever floats your boat.
What you really need is to slow down and put things into perspective. You know logically that you have a lot of things to be thankful for. Make a list of all of those things. Every little thing you can think of. Keep it in your pocket. When you get the blues, pull it out, and say a quick prayer of thanks for all you have been blessed with. You just need to loosen up and try to enjoy life some more.
Remember that you are never too old to have fun!! Play cute (but not mean) pranks....it really brings out your playful side and makes you realize that you aren't dead yet!! Have a blast.
Sit down and make a list from A to Z. For ever letter of the alphabet, write down something that you want to do before you die. It can be as simple as trying a food to getting a tattoo to taking some trip! Whatever it may be. Make it your goal to complete every task on that list!! A friend and I did this project and it really helped pull the spunk back out in our lives!

I know this will sound weird but you may be starting to have a small mid-life crisis, you should take some time off work and spend it with your family or do something youve always wanted to do. When you return to work you will feel a lot better and life will seem more ful-filling.

You've reached a point in your life where you feel it's time for a change. You've already made some good personal accomplishments, so now it might be time to settle down and work on your family life.
Of course, don't take this as gospel, you should really talk to people who know you well, and/or profesionals.

This just sounds like total burn out to me! I think you need some serious time out.To rest, do some things you really enjoy and find relaxing, spend quality time with your family, and simply rejuvenate. Seriously, find a way to make it happen or it will become a bigger problem. Wish you the best and wish you some rest!

Anxiety and depression are related. All has to do with neurotransmitter imbalance. This is something I'm all too familiar with having just gotten over major depression a year ago. I strongly recommend you read this book:
http://www.seekwellness.com/bookstore/books/book65.htm
Read my story if you would like to see how far down anxiety and depression can take you. I've also outlined how I came back to the living:
http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/AntidepressantThatWorks.html
Get your superpowers back. All it takes is a little properly applied positive reinforcement.

This is an excellent site...just log in and follow the prompts. It is affiliated with the Australian National University and is a reputable site. It looks at identifying what is happening to you and focuses on behaviour cognitive therapy. Current research states doing the 5 modules is nearly as effective as seeing a psychologist. Best wishes to you. (Note: update to correct web address)
