I just come back from america after studying there. First thing you need to do is write to the american embassy in london and they will send you a pack with forms. Fill the forms out, its best to have choosen a college before but not necessary. You need to prove you can financially support yourself during your stay in america and also that you have intentions to return after your studies are over. The whole process takes about 2-3 months and the visit to the embassy can take a whole day.

That's a very general question, and I'm not sure what your concerns are. Qualifications? Money? Visas? Also, the masters degree depends a great deal on what field you plan to do it in. Basically, you finish a bachelor's degree wherever you are, and complete the application requirements for the master's, which usually means taking an exam like the GRE or GMAT, along with the TOEFL if you are not a native English speaker.

Some of the Northern States actually DO have good standards of Education.
But your best bet would be just to BUY a diploma, saves all that hard work. American degrees are viewed with suspicion in the International community.

1. Get application form and Catalog from the Universities you are interested. (www.usatoday.com) - Under Education you will find list of top universities in the US.
2. Fill out the application form and application fees (as required) with the documentation they request.
3. Get your TOEFL and GRE score and have them send officially to the university you are applying.
4. If you get I-20 then prepare yourself for the next round.
5. Get all documentation required by US Embassy/Consulate and apply for F1 visa.
6. If you are lucky then you get the visa stamped or else try another country such as Australia and UK and then go to the US for higher degree.
