I went to Altinkum and most of the locals were friendly enough, although some were a little too friendly if you know what i mean.
Their attitude towards animals really pissed me off though.
and I did punch a bloke in face in the market because he kept grabbing me.

The natives of gumbet and bodrum are UNBELIEVEABLY nice friendly and extremely helpful. Cleanliness - it aint the cleanest - just due to the fact that the dont have a good sewage system there and if you go for a lower star hotel, they can stink - so my advice would be to go for a 4-5 star - they're not that expensive anyway.
just beware though - even though the locals are great - you will be annoyed greatly when you go shopping - they really try and push sales on you - as in restaurants - they have touts outside every bar and restaurant, who again will get irritating! Other than that its a fantastic place - my advice - go with an empty suitcase as you'll get fantastic buys over!

The locals in Gumbet are very friendly, genuine people. We have been for the past 2 years and the second year we went back we were amazed by how many of the waiters and bar workers recognised us from the previous year!

If you go to the markets be prepared for some of the stallholders to be quite pushy (although I have never found them aggressive) if you are firm and say No Thank You and walk away then they will leave you alone. Also if you have to walk past a lot of restaurants/bars to get to where you want to go they will do their best to get you in for a meal or a drink!

I love Turkey! I have been 3 times and I will be going back,if you go out at night the locals can be a little forward towards women especially if they have blonde hair. But they are harmless and usually very polite, it is clean but you do get bits of rubbish here and there like yo7u do in every country. If i can make one suggestion go for a turkish bath, they are amazing !

Locals are friendly, sometimes a bit overwhelmingly so. As far as cleanliness the town itself can be a bit dirty but there are a lot of Blue Flag Beaches in the area at least attesting to the cleanliness of the water and the beaches.

In general Turkish people are friendly. On the markets they can be a bit aggressive. They want to part you from your Euros. It's clean, but if you really have to 'go' and you don't want to go into a restaurant, then make for the nearest Mosque. The toilets there are clean - and free!
