I saw David Hasselhof sing a song in German yesterday and I must say that it was a very silly thing to watch and hear. A friend of mine who is from Dutch origin told me that his language is very similar to German but not so gay sounding. Is this true?

It is true that the languages are related. It's not true that German is gay sounding. It is solely his opinion, and it is most likely he has a strong dislike for Germans as many Europeans have since WWII.

Even Switzerland, a German-speaking country, looks down on speaking the standard High German (Hochdeutsch) of Germany, preferring their regional dialects instead. The Swiss consider High German to be kalt and gefühllos--cold and emotionless. When I was visiting their, I had to pick up on the local dialect real quick, so as not to annoy the locals when trying to communicate with them.

Okay, FYI english, dutch, german, swedish, norwegian, frisian, danish, icelandic, there all are related languages!!! Plus how does german sound gay? Sure i am NOT german, but how can a language sound gay, the only way it can sound gay is the way it is pronunced.

I don't know what you mean by a "gay" sounding language, but it doesn't seem like a very "excited and merry" or "bright in appearance". I live in Munich for a year and German actually seems like an angry, rough language to me.

The idea of David Hasselhoff singing in German is bizarre in itself!

Stop stereo-typing.

David Hasselhoff's accent makes the German song sound silly. It wasn't the song's fault.

Jeesh.

Only if you like Nietzsche.
People are gay not objects or ideas.
Are you gay for saying the German language is gay?

Personally, I think the French sound a lot more gay than Germans. They look and act gayer too. Also, the French have turned into political cowards.
