Not really. Maggots are mostly protein whereas rice is carbohydrate. They go well with jugged hare, though.
Did you have some trouble replacing the key caps, by any chance?

They are a viable substitute for rice but you must be aware that maggots first of all are a carcinagen (give you the dreaded cancer) and therefore you put yourself at risk with long term contact. This has never seterred me though as I smoke regularley and stare death in the face working in an office.
If you do decide to eat maggots then may I suggest that you first douce them in goats blood and leave them over night. This will bring out the succulent flavour they contain and enhance the taste. Enjoy.

Hey Barney, I can hardly see your pic today. Looking gorgeous as always, however. Woof woof.
Maggots? Actually I read in my daughter's Horrible Histories either the Aztecs or the Incas used to eat maggots. So there you go, a very viable alternative to rice.
I imagine they'll bloat considerably should you boil them, so make sure you leave room in the pot for expansion. Or you could leave them alive, and have a play with your food whilst you eat. Bit of wriggly entertainment.
Hmm, tasty, tasty, very, very tasty.

Rice bugs are better. You can generally find them on the ceiling of new houses. They're about 1 cm in length with a hard exoskeleton and they sometimes the grow wings and fly in formation about the room, emitting glowing green dust, like the Red Arrows. They also taste like tomatoes.

Only in looks. Maggots have protien and rice has carbs. But you have to eat them in the early stages before they start to turn to flies. Otherwise you will feel like you got butterflies in your belly! LOL!

Maggots are in fact much more nutritious than rice, they are the staple diet of many Amazonian riverbank dwellers.

Define "viable?" Remember that maggots live in rotting flesh...ohh goodie, think of the bacteria! Happy food poisoning!

Yes of course - but they wriggle more, so may require more chewing.
Although if you fry them first til they are brown, then pour on boiling water they explode from the inside making them fluffy and delicious and also less wriggly!

You're a dog. Anything is a viable alternative to rice. Even non-foodstuffs.
