He most likely can run under 3 hours... He was one of the best junior triathletes in the country before he took up cycling full time, but also take into account that he has said that he is running the NYC marathon for fun, and not competing. So if he feels like running a 3 hour marathon he will, but he may just be using this race as a way to stay in shape. and stop with the "he is a doper" crap. Unless you have 100% proof he dopes, dont assume.

I think that he could come close, if not succeed in this. Despite his career as a cyclist, Lance competed in the off season in several local duathlons (run, bike, run) in the Austin area and was very competetive, often placing at or close to the top. He is currently training for the NYC marathon. For these reasons, I would say yes.

Even though he has scaled back his cycling, I imagine his heart and lungs would be no problem. However, his legs may be the limiting factor. Cycling and running use different muscles. If he hasn't been doing some recent training running, his muscles and joints could give out long before his heart and lungs.

Sure he could. He started out as a runner not as a cyclist. He also won a number of Biathlon's and Triathlons before won the Tour De France seven times.

I'm sure that he could run under 3 hours. He competed in Triathlons when he was younger.

He was featured on several occasions in the Dallas/Fort Worth sports media way back when he was in High School and winning Triathlon events.

I imagine he would be able to break 3 hours, but I doubt he could beat world class runners at their own game.
