Previously, he and I were friendly, but completely platonic with each other. Here lately he keeps on complimenting me on my appearance, especially my butt.

What the heck do you think it means my dear. He's definitely not looking at your mind from what you're saying. He's looking at everything else. And I think you already figured out in your head what he is probably looking for. Legally if you don't like it it's sexual harrassment. If you do and your interested, I guess go for it. Personally, I don't like comments like that constantly, Lightly once in awhile is okay. Otherwise it's, to me a little over flirtacious and needs to get calmed down before you lose the friendship and he just becomes a pain. I'd be careful if you want to respond to him because you may be interested in him He may not be interested in you for the same reasons. I can't see a guy talking to me like that unless he just doesn't know how to talk to a women, and just thinks that's what they want to hear. I'd just like to hear something like "you look nice today," rather than what my butt looks like. Compliments are nice if said the right way. Anyway, that is just the way I feel.

He is begging for a sexual harassment complaint. This kind of behavior in the workplace is uncalled for. Keep a log of the day, time, and remarks made. Also, document who else might be standing around listening to all of this. Turn him in to your boss.

maybe he just likes your butt. then again maybe he really wants something else. but until he does/says something stupid to you, he is just admiring your butt.
