vieling of women?

Question

all divine religions like islam, christianity and judaism call for women to be in viel, the extent differs but the comandment is there.
why do u think this is so?
those societies where women cover themselves in any form of viel how they differ from those where women are not bound to dress modestly?
i am not asking out of bias but my purpose is to have a better understanding.

The difference between the two types of women is simple the women who continue to wear veils are submissive and and believe that they are not equal to men. Women who dress how ever they want obviously are not submissive and are very independant and realize that they are just as valuable as men are. Personally I think the whole idea of the viel thing way back when was because men found it hard to control themselves around women and to help avoid that problem someone came up with the idea of covering women all up so no one can see them. It has one thing going for it , which is those women sure arent at risk for skin cancer from the sun but then again they also dont get the benifits from the sun either unless they have an indoor patio where they can be with out the viel. I also think it has alot to do with the men where the women wear viels are scared of women and of being controled by them.

In Quran, the holy book of Islam, there is no direct order for the woman to cover her hair. But it orders the women to cover the sexy parts of their bodies and it is clearly mentioned to cover the part upper the breasts till the neck. And in teachings of Prophet Mohammed, PBUH, it was mentioned that woman has to cover all her body except the face and hands.
I would to say that woman could be a Muslim without wearing the veil. And I think it must be for her to decide if she wants to wear it or to leave it. But I confirm here that she must respect her body by wearing decent and respectable cloths. This is not for only Muslim women… it is for all women whatever their backgrounds are.
Well I’m Muslim woman and I wear the veil (hair cover) and I don’t feel it limits my activities. I have my work and I do all daily duties as the unveiled ones. And I would never wear something makes me just as a model to hot the men around.

Why women have to cover their breasts and not men. ? Because women and men in reality are physically, mentally and emotionally different. Women in Islam should cover all of their body except there face and there hands and a man in Islam should cover his body from his belly button to his knees. A man is also not aloud to expose his body but if u look around women are exposing their body more than men do. Those are the laws of God and there is so much respect for women. women in Islam are like diamonds, cannot be touched or seen except with God's permission. She can have sex with her husband and husband can have sex with her wife but not outside marriage so as to be loyal to each other. Its nowonder the divorce rate is so much high in the west and thier marriages are not everlasting because they dont stick to one husband and wife but different boyfriends and girlfriends. Its not natural. Thier not sincere with eachother. Our women should not walk with bikini in the beach. look at the magazines, women of today have become Sex-sell things. They are portrayed like show pieces, u may never have seen an add without a women. A woman is used to attract people not men. Islam respects women and puts them on a high position. As Islam is the continuation of Gods messages the other religions like Judaism and Christianity also preach that women must be covered but those religions were being modified. Have u ever wondered why NUNS have to cover but not the priests?

Dont u think its much safer? how many veiled women do u see getting raped? or checked out by some filthy paedophiles? or have pervert men ogling at them? I hate it! its a form of protection and there is obviously truth in it if so many religions in the world command it

How many women are being exploited today just because they dress like sluts everywhere u see nudity is selling and its just disgusting its degrading to women they have no respect left and are merely seen as sex objects...I wish i could cover up in a veil!!!!

You are right, all religions called their women to be covered. Uncovered lady at ancient time was considered as easy and undecent.

In UAE you will see covered muslims, uncovered muslims, uncovered non muslims.
But 100% can tell you that reputation and respect for covered women is great among arabs and muslims rather than to uncovered woman.

It is mentality of men here in Dubai They will not approach covered lady coz they will think she is not easy, they will respect her. If they see half naked girls on the street - it means she is undress to ATTRACT MEN, means AVAILABLE and EASY..

I think somewhere in the Bible it says for a woman to always cover the hair while in public, I dont know why they cover the face unless its a man made rule of that country or religion.

I Start with The Name of ALLAH, The Most Beneficient, The Most Merciful.
First of all, Peace to u, and thanx for asking a question abt my religion Islam.
Commandment for Veiling of Women is for all times, but if anyone does Not follow it, then its one's own choice.

As for Muslim Head gear (veiling) and dress is concerned, if u ask any True Muslimah (Muslim woman), she will tell u, how beautiful it is to be protected like that, i will point out some advantages of it out of the top of my head :-

1) When a Muslimah goes out on to the streets, ALLAH (GOD) will protect her from :
a) Dirty gazes of men.
b) Various taunts from men (just for the sake of example i m
quoting "Nice Hooters !!!")
c) Molestation from Men.
d) Even from being an easy target of rapists.
e) Last, but Not the Least, she will be well-respected and
honoured by men, as ALLAH (GOD) will put the respect &
honour for her, into the hearts of men.
2) The Beauty of a Woman won't be on 'show' for the entire
public (she is NOT a Public Property), but her beauty will only
be for whom she wants (her husband, her children and other
family members).
3) If she is a working women :
a) she wont ever be sexually harassed.
b) she will have high self-esteem, 'coz she won't be appraised
for her beauty and body, but rather for her work, intelligence
& any other talent.
c) she will be handed more responsible assignments and
positions in office, 'coz employers know what she is
capable of, rather than having her for a Personal Secretary
('coz she is beautiful and sexy, of course).
4) Moral & Ethics of Society will Raise quite a bit, as children and
teens will be brought up with Respect for Women.
5) Extra-marital sex will diminish, and wives will feel much
secure, 'coz she knows that her husband won't cheat on her,
as he won't be oggling on any young beautiful girl (well, in an
ideal world, if all are dressed the Islamic Way).
6) Pre-marital sex will diminish, which will give parents a peace
of mind, that their teens are safe, and they won't develop any
mental & emotional unstability (which comes from sex at an
early age).
7) Various STDs, HIVs, and any other terminal diseases won't
spread, through common sexuality in society.
8) Finally, u will be living in a Decent Modest Society, Not a
Jungle.

Now, i know that the Last Point is hard to swallow, but i'll like to give my proof of it, unlike some other ppl who comments without sufficient proofs abt Islam.
Readers' Digest magazine conducted a survey in US in 1991, as to how many Rapes Registered (forget abt the unregistered) occurs in a single day? and the figure came out to be 1756 rapes in every 24 hrs (rape in every 50 secs).
Then, 5yrs later in 1996 FBI disclosed stats of US, among which how many Rapes Registered occurs in a single day? and the figures were 2713 Rapes in every 24 hrs (rape in every 33 secs), which means ppl got more bold in terms of raping.
But, i haven't had the oppurtunity to view the latest stats (i will appreciate if someone looks up & tells me), i don't know how much bolder ppl would have had gotten in 10 yrs (if they got so much bold in 5 yrs) for raping.
So, this is the reason, i concluded it is a Jungle Out there, and US is amongst the top countries where rape occurs mostly, but Not the Top country.

i want to invite everyone to Islam. Research on ur own abt Islam. Read The Holy Quran, Read Books of Hadiths (Prophet's Sayings), Research by Authentic Reliable Books & Sites (Don't count on sites that defame Islam, 'coz they spread mis-information and misconceptions abt Islam, and they cant even back up there claims with sufficient proofs, thus they are basically rambling Falsehood abt Islam). Do all this research on ur own and dont believe in anyone's hearsay (Not even mine). May GOD (ALLAH) guide u on The Path of Seeking The Truth. Peace to All.
