There is really not enough information in this question to make an informed decision on the situation. Could it have been a conflict with another group of friends? Was the friend limited to the number of people they could invite? Was it to an event your friend might have believed you wouldn't enjoy?
If this is a passing issue, then I would do just that ... Let it pass without another thought. But if it becomes commonplace, then obviously the friend doesn't see you as being as close as you see yourself.
Is it OK to feel upset? Yes, it would probably be kind of hard not to. But should you feel upset? No. If your friend had reasons for not inviting you, they were valid and it doesn't become a regular issue...you should be understanding and let it pass. And if it doesn't pass, then it's not that good of a friendship, and it's really not worth the time and emotional turmoil you put into being upset.

Take a good look at the friends that you know were invited, would there have been problems with you and anyone else invited? Or this could just be you are not as close as you think.

Sometimes friends do things without thinking and what we see as a major insult, they have no idea what they have done, if you want to save your friendship, then I think you need to be able to talk openly to a so called best friend and ask her why, not in an accusing way. Just say you were hurt at missing the event she went out to celebrate, and have you done anything to offend her?
You don't say what the event was, but if if was new job or something, did you show any enthusiam or support for it when she mentioned it to you?
I don't have a boyfriend and sometimes my friends leave me out of evenings when they and their other friends all have partners, it hurts but I've go used to it.

I think it depens on the motive of your bestfriends because I believe that your bestfriend will do the good thing for you. Or maybe he or she has a plan or something that make you happy. That's why don't be too upset to your bestfriend if he/she doesn't invite you to a certain celebration. Although it is not easy to do tha, just try to trust your bestfriend. It is because the basis of true friendship is not depends on the often invitation from him/her but the trust you both have for each other. I hope you like my answer..God bless...

Yes, of course it is! If u consider that person to be one of your closest friends, and they gave you the impression that you are their close friend then u have every right to be upset. Please talk to friend about it in a non confrontational way. Tell her how upset u are that she didn't invite u because you value her friendship so much and u thot she valued u in the same way. Ask her, or else u'll neva know whats really going, it's not good to jus assume things.

yes you have the right to feel upset, but that's OK..try not to think much about it and remember it's good to have a good friend rather than don't have at all. life is like this sometime.

Yes, but dont let it mess up your day. Ultimately you're the one with the hurt feelings, while she' s having fun!And its lame to confront her about it, its a bit 12!So try and work through it and not let it bother you too much.

It is your assumpstion to consider him/her your best friend and if you have any good reason to consider as best friend then please don't get upset as your best friend has something special for you or may be your assumptions go wrong.
In friendship and love more pleasure is in giving than in receiving..

Nothing is wrong to have that feelings. Actually to have that feeling meaning you are human-being.
Remember, don't get upset but get even.
