Ok, I have taken my girlfriend to the dances before, and we both had a blast. Now there is this new one coming up soon, and I want a more unique, original way to ask her than the standards.
Here is my idea: I got one of those Tracpones that has text messaging. Of course, she doesn't know I got it. And it will only show the number when you text, so she won't know it's me. What if I was eating lunch at a table behind her and sent texts to her that eventually have her turn around to see that it was me asking her the whole time?
Wouldn't that be fun?!?

I think anything fresh and new shows creativity. Creativity is a turn on for girls, so I say you're on the right path.

The idea is generally to be "original" yet romantic, by which I mean copying what thousands of people have done before but she hasn't personally experienced.
For example, you might try leaving her a note telling her to go somewhere, with another note with a rose on top, with another note and another small present like chocolates, and so on and so forth until you get bored, and make it a little treasure hunt for her, culminating in you meeting her somewhere suitably romantic (like a quiet waterfront surrounded by foilage) and asking her to the dance.
Word of warning: Asking a girl out for the first time in an elaborate manner may come off as more creepy than romantic. In such cases, it's best to keep it simple, especially since that much effort just to be rejected sucks anyway.

I think that would be real cute. If you wanted to be even cuter, you could ask her in a kind of proposal. You know, like get down on one knee, profess your love for her and then, ask her to...go to the dance with you! lol It would be too cute!
