Habitat for humanity?

I need a good introduction to a charity campaign. it seems that the customers beleive's that it's a sales call.

From what I understand Habitat for Humanity helps low income people throughout the world obtain home ownership. Building materials are donated or purchased at a discount. Volunteer workers then build the house kind of like an old fashioned barn raising where friends and neighbors help each other out. The prospective home owner has to actually work on the house to build up "sweat " equity. The remainder of the costs are paid off through a low interest loan. I don't know who Marty K is but he must really hate people and he gives conservatives a bad name.

It's basically another liberal organization, from what I understand. I wouldn't involve yourself with it.
