My voice is a deep bass one. (I am the voice of your Windows 2000 feature called "Narrator." Over 5 or 6 months, I recorded words,,,real and NON real,,, at Microsoft. My work is made the model "narrator" uses to read aloud from your screen. See "Programs," --- "accessories" --- "accessibility" --- for Narrator in Windows 2000.)

Having covered many Presidential, Senate, Congressional and state wide campaigns, I am very familiar with political affairs. But have had little luck in getting campaigns to rerspond to my efforts to VOLUNTEER use of my voice, journalism skills, or writing. (I have written speeches, history, and scripts for audio books and live stage. Suggestions?

I would try your luck at the local democratic headquarters. There are not going to take a phone call or simple letter seriously. Your best way to get a foot in the door may be to write for there blog or webpage. As for doing voiceover work I am pretty sure it is more on the production company that is actual putting together the commercial then it is the actual politicians themselves that pick the voice talent. So start at the local office and work your way up the ladder.

Maybe the mistake you're making is in volunteering. Perhaps you need to see an agent . You could do a voice-over course so that you have the necessary qualifications and then tell them about the Microsoft work and get paid work. Some organisations, unfortunately, think if you are free you can't be much good! (Or want trained people)

Call their campaign headquarters. Let them know you want to volunteer. Once you show up to "work" you can tell them your background. They might think you are looking for a paid job if you send them a resume.

To best resonate with Democratic candidates, go to a barn yard and practice imitating pig squealing. That should get you right in the door.
