Hillbilly is someone who lives in the hills.
Redneck is someone who was raised with hicks from the hills and let loose in the general public.
You know you are a redneck.....when you have horses grazining on your front lawn

Hillbilly? Someone who works/lives in the hills.
Redneck? Someone who wears a shirt in the summer and has a white body (Think Hank Hill)

These are derrogatory names for white people who are socially and politically naive. meaning they think that the rest of the world is anglosaxon protestant, and that they wouldn't be offended by the idea of prayer everywhere. or they might hold antiquated racist ideals. redneck refers to the way they might be identified by their sunburns(they often have their shirts off during the day which implies they do undereducated things)

I personally prefer Hickabilly..........but that's just me :) It's a person from the country, usually the South.
