I've known this girl for years, and I still can't talk to her. What should I do?

She has become a special person for you . You should think about her as an ordinary girl , then you can approach easier .

So, it sounds like you like her, otherwise it would be easy to talk with her. Consider weather you want her as a friend or a girlfriend.
If you want her as a friend, go up to her and make a comment about the situation. Talk about a cool movie or a funny TV show you recently watched.
If you want her for a girlfriend.... do the same.... at least, at first. One of the most important things you should do before you win her heart is to befriend her friends. Girls talk about everything with their friends, so it is important that they don't have any major grudges against you, lest nasty, untrue rumors spread about behind your back. Once you are friends with her friends, ask her friend to go get some info. for you.
Since you've known her for years, you probably know what some of her interests are, right? Go with that, it works!

Why are u getting shy like a girl... Understand that girls are also like guys only.. they also want to talk to guys but their girlish instincts doest allow them to do so.. When she walks by you just give a killer smile first and dont talk to her.. Just walk away.. Then may be 3rd or 4th time you have to get strong with your balls and say " hi, we have been seen each other for a long time. Doesnt it fells odd? " and then ask the name and get her mail id.. then phone no.. and then the "grand finale" ... the proposal..

Make it a casual thing at first. Girls get really frightened if things go too fast and they don't have any control over the situation. Be her friend first by just talking over little insignificant things...then slowly make it a habit of talking to her. Pretty soon you'll be on friendly terms.

if you knew her for years then its some what obvous that you must know some things she like or is into so use those as passes to get talking. if you are shy be shy but what ever you do talk to her trust me you dont wanna be thinking of what you could have done when she is hooked upwith some other guy.
