But do we have strong faith in what we believe?

So far no one had walk on water other than Jesus.
So far no one had risen someone from death other than Jesus.

Why is faith that requires us only as small as a mustard seed is hard to come by for us? What did we miss?

Yep. I sure do. Jesus never told me too walk on water. He simply said: Have faith and make the attempt.

Hebrews 11:17-19
People put their trust in different things. Some place faith in the Lord; others trust in themselves or another person. Faith can even be placed in relationships, money, or politics. Anytime we put absolute trust in something, we demonstrate faith. So, the question isn't, Do I have any faith? but rather, In what have I placed my faith? Looking at that question honestly will shake up your assumptions about your spiritual life.
An old saying explains, "Faith gives feet to belief." Simply put, this means that faith is the active expression of what you believe about God. If you have the idea that He sits in some far-off place called "heaven" and only halfheartedly listens to your prayers, then that will reveal itself in your day-to-day walk of faith. Your God will seem small, powerless, and disinterested. The result will be a string of seemingly unanswered prayers and a general sense of defeat.
If, on the other hand, you believe that God is right beside you, whispering in your ear, pouring out His Holy Spirit upon you - and that He is intimately familiar and concerned with the minutiae of your life - then such a belief will impact your faith walk. Prayer will be a joyful exchange between cherished friends, and the evidence of our heavenly Father's miraculous power will become commonplace in your daily life.

Weak faith says, "God can." Great faith says, "God will." But perfect faith - godly faith - says, "It's done." Your faith is your testimony.

great Q*.

Well, it's like that 'ole boy in the Bible said to Jesus; Lord I believe , help thou my unbelief. What was he saying? I think there is a difference between having faith and really having faith. We believe but, we really don't believe. On my part, I know this is true because of some of the things I do and don't do in my life. Faith without works is dead.

Actually, Seeker, there have been others who have performed miracles such as these through the ordained Power of God, called the Priesthood.

My baby, Sophie, was born blind. She also was very sick. She was not thriving. It was so hard and very scary for me. I prayed for help and guidance on how to accept a child like the one I had. In answer to my many prayers I had the distinct impression to ask for a blessing from one who had been Ordained and Set Apart as one worthy to hold the Power of God, the Priesthood, and act in the name of God to do his work here on earth;
I asked my father to bless her.

In the Name of Jesus Christ and by the Authority of the Priesthood of God he gave my baby Sophie a blessing when she was just over 1 month old. He healed her of her blindness, and other physical ailments. He gave her health and strength. But he only did this, knowing that it was the will of our Father in Heaven, and it was also based on the faith of my husband and I in the healing power of our God.

She was healed. Her sight emmedietly came to her, and so did her health.
She was losing weight, but now she is 6 months old and weighs a robusk 15.11 lbs!! She's the sweetest little chunk, happy, and can see perfectly! She is healthy, strong, learning and growing normally.
She is the window for me to see the miracle of God's power on earth this day, and also to see the faith that we can have in the power of God. I had the faith.

Can you?

well, other tests of being a True Christians, can no one do, like,
1) drinking poison and Not die, for those who are True Christians.
2) Speak in many languages fluently, that one does Not even know of, as the Apostles used to do.
and, i suppose there must be others as well as u mentioned.

But, we Muslims have NO such tests, 'coz we don't judge other Muslims, who is a strong believer and who is Not, 'coz we leave all the Judging to The Best Judge of All, which is ALLAH (GOD), and Only HE knows, what lies in the heart of everyone, so we ppl don't have to judge other ppl, as it is Not for us to do. Also, a strong Believer ("Momin" in Muslim Term) can be spotted with His Conviction in His Faith ("Eeman" in Muslim Term), and His will to "Struggle/Strive" (Jihad) and do anything, that is necessary, for His Faith.
well i know, u didn't ask for an Islamic Perspective, but i still gave, to shamelessly promote my Religion 'Islam'. Peace to All.

The reason no one in modern times has enough faith to work these miracles is that no on has EVER had enough faith to work these miracles. Miracles just don't work that way.

The cults who worshiped Osiris, Mithras, Attis, and Dionysus for working miracles, dying, and being resurrected all preceded the cult of Jesus. If you must believe in mythology, at least look for the original version of the story.

Faith must be exercised for it to grow. We miss it when when stop believing. It seems hard because we live in an instant society and we want everything yesterday. It seems hard because we decide how God should do something and if he chooses another way we get angry.

dude...it's a fairytale....

that's like asking why no more pumpkins have been turned into coaches...or why no more princesses have awoken from death with a kiss, or why no more mermaids have become human....

Have all the faith you want...you still won't walk on water. You can put your boots in the oven...that won't make them biscuits.

u have faith that the air u breathe is going to be here for your next breath and if u open your mind to alot of things u take for granted, alot of that has to do with faith. and the only way to heaven is to have faith in jesus and know him as your saviour, and yes u can get to know him, he is just as real as a person sitting next to u, u just have to open your heart and let him in

because in this day we are so 'logical' and believe only in science to answer our questions. i've seen one person walk on water since Jesus and i don't think he's Christian.
it is hard for a person to believe with out 'proof' i understand what you mean
