NO, Nothing like that ....... i can answer ur question in one line :
"Paradise is beneath the feet of Mother".
So, children (even adult ones) can't even say "hmph" at their parents, they can't show any displeasure to them. To obey parents (Muslim ones) is like obeying ALLAH (GOD), and parents who are non-Muslims, even they are to be respected and loved by children as any other (Muslim) parents, but if they want to turn u away from Islam, only then u can not obey them, but obey them in every else matter. Peace to All.

no, my mother-in-law is still the head of the family since my father-in-law's death. she has 5 sons and 2 daughters and 2 daughter-in-laws, all of them taking care of her. and so is with my grandmother, till she died a few years ago.so study before making a judgement.
muhammed- pbuh said -- 'Paradise lies at the feet of ur mother'
and a man should give all women in his life a part of the property. but a women does not need to give her wealth and assets until she does it with her wish.
ISLAM AND WOMEN'S RIGHT TO PROPERTY
An-Nisa | 176 verses | The Women سÙرة اÙÙساء
Sura #4 | Madina
7 Unto the men (of a family) belongeth a share of that which parents and near kindred leave, and unto the women a share of that which parents and near kindred leave, whether it be little or much - a legal share.
32 And covet not the thing in which Allah hath made some of you excel others. Unto men a fortune from that which they have earned, and unto women a fortune from that which they have earned. (Envy not one another) but ask Allah of His bounty. Lo! Allah is ever Knower of all things.
176 They ask thee for a pronouncement. Say: Allah hath pronounced for you concerning distant kindred. If a man die childless and he have a sister, hers is half the heritage, and he would have inherited from her had she died childless. And if there be two sisters, then theirs are two-thirds of the heritage, and if they be brethren, men and women, unto the male is the equivalent of the share of two females. Allah expoundeth unto you, so that ye err not. Allah is Knower of all thing

WHATEVER ANY BOOK SAYS- MOTHER IS 'SUPREME'
SHE NEED NOT OBEY SONS AND DAUGHTERS
THEY SHOULD OBEY HER
SHE IS THE LIVING GOD FOR THEM
ITS THE MORAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CHILD TO TAKE CARE OF HIS NATURAL PARENTS ATLEAST WHATEVER THEY ARE.
