That is not true at all. Saudi men are very close to their families and that includes their sisters. A brother is one of the few men allowed to see a women without their veils. It is not taboo at all for them to have a close relationship. Islam is all about promoting closeness between the family. The gender separation happens within non blood relatives like a man with his sister in laws ( they should be chaperoned and the women should be veiled) A woman can be seen by (and be alone with)her husband, brothers and father without veils. These are the men that she is forbidden to marry.

Absolutely not. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to have strong (non Sexual) relationships. Under Islamic law, men are allowed to have physical contact with their sisters (that is to hug, kiss and anything that brings them together). so segregation is not the norm.

who ever told you that was either pulling your leg or misinformed
Saudi men are typically (and as with every nationality there are all types, shapes and sizes!) take on a parental or guardian role with their sisters - looking out for them, will accompany them out shopping or to the cinema whatever

Complete nonsense.
They might not mix in with females from other families.
But with their own families, most of them have very good relations.
Family comes first in Arab traditions.

The way Saudis raise their kids is different than other Arab countries, their houses is divided to two section: males and females, each live in his or her section and they are not allowed to go to each others, they have their separate sitting rooms and they entertain guests separately. the male is not allowed to mingle in females lives, they hardly see each other, even banks and restaurants have dividers and they are not allowed to mix.
